~chapter 2
Gravity cannot be held responsible for people falling in love. . .
***
I was in this moment where I found myself having grudges over love songs.
"Brett turn your music down, please." I whispered, yet I was really annoyed.
"Geez, what's wrong with you?" He just ignored me.
Great. But if I didn't be able to get hold of myself, I'm gonna get out of this car even if it's in a halt or not.
"Everything I love from you is never gonna be true, Cause everything we had in love was gone, gone, gone I said I'll give my heart to you, But you don't even want me to, Everything we used to be is gone, gone, gone!"
Okay. Other than the fact that Brett's voice is worst than a dying cat, I just hate love songs. I mean, I just happened to be . . . broken hearted. Yeah, and that's because of Draven Collins. Love songs just remind me of him, his smile that lights up the whole world, his eyes that shines above everything, his hair that smells so nice, and his voice that sounds like perfection . . . Okay. Stop! I'm over that. Correction, I SHOULD be over that.
" . . . And your sex takes me to paradise Yeah your sex takes me to paradise And it shows, yeah, yeah, yeah Cause you making me feel like, I've been locked out of heaven For too long, for too long. Yeah you- "
"We're here!" Mom and dad yelled in unison.
Oh thank God. I sighed. Finally!
Walking at the front entrance of the airport, I found it a bit movie-like. I mean, it looks like some kind of a movie scene or something. But anyways, we made our entrance and I meet up with the scent of the airport's air. There's a lot of people like . . . well, like in a normal airport. Ugh, but here goes my family.
"Finally, the Daniels have arrived!" Dad yelled in a very embarrassing way. Oh God, If only I wasn't right beside my dad, I wouldn't be much embarrassed. But I am! At my right side, I heard Brett muttered some curse words under his breathe. Ah, so he wasn't like 'enjoying' the family trip as much as I thought he was, huh? He looked as if he was embarrassed, so I guess he don't. Great, then we can share same burdens.
I was in the moment of eyeing my surroundings, when suddenly, a hand grabbed me by my waist. I was about to yell ''bloody murder' only to figured out that it was Brett after all. Dang, this guy is real violence.
"What's your problem bro?" I snapped at him.
He ran his hand through his hair, "Well . . . uh, how am I gonna say this? Well, uh . . . - "
"Say it already, Brett." I said. He sighed. "Elyza's here." He murmured so quietly, that I'm so closed to not hearing it.
"Who?" I asked. I've really never heard of or about Alysa before. "Elyza! My girlfriend!" Brett whispered-yelled. I gasp. "You have a girlfriend? For real?" I cannot believe it. My brother has a girlfriend?
"I do. But I never know she'd be here, she didn't told me. I . . . God, she can't saw me like this! I look like crap." He groaned, as if the whole world depends on him.
That is totally non-sense.
I was about to walk away from him, only to be grabbed in the arm. "What should I do?" he asked bewildered. Really? He was asking me that? Tsk. Wrong choice of person.
"Well, all I can say is you must introduce Alysa to us." I smirked. "Uh . . . her name is Elyza, not Alysa. And no, I will not do that."
"Why not?" I asked. There's nothing wrong about introducing his girl friend to us. Besides, that's what I did when Draven was still my boyfriend.
"Ugh, Kendra, come on! Just tell me what to do." he pleaded. I put my hand on my chin, pretending to think. "Tell her she looks pretty!" I grinned. I really wasn't helping. I know that.
"Fuck, Kendra. I hate you." he glared at me. I pretended a gasp. "Oh my god, Really?"
Then next thing I know, there was someone behind us.
"Hi." The girl slightly waved her hand. I felt Brett tensed beside me. And then next thing he did was the most stupid thing a boy would do. He ran. Oh Brett, what the hell?
"Uh . . . did Brett just ran away? I was gonna talk to him." the girl sighed sadly. Hmm . . . so this was Alysa- I mean, Elyza. How dare Brett ran away from his girlfriend? I didn't know he was that coward.
I take the opportunity to eye Elyza. Hmm . . . Brown eyes, dark-brown hair, nice curves, and about 5'9. Pretty but too pale. But still, she matched Brett's features. They'll make a cute couple, I guess.
"Hi Elyza!" I finally take the opportunity to know her, so I offered my hand. She shook it doubtly. "Uh . . .may I ask who are you Ms.?" she asked in a very soft and calmed voice.
"I'm Kendra, Brett's sister." I smiled. I recieved a frown from her. "Brett has a sister?" Jesus, I swear, I hate Brett. He didn't even mind telling his girlfriend that he has a sister! What a very nice brother. But instead of yelling like a mad woman, I stayed as calm as possible so that I'll have a nice, and normal conversation with Elyza.
"Yeah, he has. And you're his girlfriend, right?"
"WHAT?!?!" She yelled. And I swear, her eyes are gonna buldge out of their sacket. What did I do? Brett told me Elyza was his girlfriend. Am I not suppose to say it out loud?
"Ohmygod! No, no. I'm not his . . . ha ha. Well, I'm just not. I mean, not like I don't want to. I mean, I don't hate Brett at all but I'm still not his girlfriend. Ha ha. I just . . . ohmygod! I'm word-vommiting again. Kendra, I'm so sorry!"
God, Brett didn't told me that his girlfriend word-vommits. Oh wait, I forgot, she wasn't his girlfriend. But then why? I am sure the exact words of Brett are- 'Elyza! My girlfriend!' See? I remember. He totally said she was his girlfriend.
"But he said you are." I insist.
"He did?!" She was shock and beyond fainting. I chuckled to myself. I don't understand the relationship of this girl to my brother, but I can totally sense that there's something between them. "He did Elyza, l swear, he really did." I smirked.
If she was pale, now she looked as if 70% of her blood was lost. And right through her face expression, she could not believe my words. God, I love this girl! Even if she wasn't really Brett's girlfriend after all.
"Kendra, It's really nice talking to you. But I gotta go now," she said.
"Oh sure! But aren't you gonna talk to Brett anymore?" I asked. I mean, they could at least talk to each other after how Brett had just ran away like that. "Uh, no. But can you please give this to him?" she handed me a white, small envelop that looks like a letter. Yeah, it's probably a letter.
"Sure, Elyza. Anything." I smiled at her as she gave me the white envelope. I hold it safely beneath my hand. And then, I asked for her number and she willingly gave it to me. After exchanging numbers, she walked away with a one last goodbye-wave, and a sweet smile. Aw . . . If Brett would be asking for my opinion, I would totally vote for this girl!
After that, I walked my way to my parents, and to a fidgeting Brett.
"Hey people, ssup?" I greated since they all looked sleepy and bored. "Great, our flight was delayed for two more hours." Mom informed. Oh hey, way to brighten up my mood (take note of the sarcasm).
Great. I just love flights . . . hell no.
