Chapter 4
I will only stop loving you, when an apple fruit grows on a mango tree on the 30th day of February. . .

I told Brett that he can stay and it's okay if he won't go with us. Besides, this was his idea. He can back out whenever he wants and then there will be no family trip. Yay!
But the real problem is, Elyza. She needs Brett. And that line of hers... 'I wish we had more time' is totally heart crashing. I'm sure it affected Brett somehow.
It seems like my brother turned his back from her after the day she rejected him. But I know deep deep deep inside that heart of my brother, he loves her. Truly.
I know because that's also the way I looked at Draven back when we were still inlove with each other. But I never knew if we had the connection. Brett and Elyza sure had the connection, I could feel it.
I sighed. But whatever Fate's plan is... I'm on.
“Kendra, we're up now. How's your brother?” Mom put a hand on my shoulder.
“Uh- he's fine... I think.” I stuttered.
Mom looked at me suspiciously, "That better not be something bad." -With that, she strolled away with a luggage bag.
I scan the airport for Brett. He was just here beside me a while ago, wasn't he? Yes yes of course he was. But where is he? It's about time.
After hopeless 25 minutes of searching, and with mom and dad yelling at me on why the hell did I let my oh-so-responsible brother to get away! I didn't even know if he really get away!
I slumped back in the airport bench, and an idea popped into my head. My phone- Brett's number. Great! That's it, I should call him.
. . . .
. . . .
. . . .
"Hello?" He said, sounding so pathetic.
"Don't hello me. Where in the world were you! We're abou-" He cut me off.
"Kendra, listen." He said, and took a deep breath. "I don't know if I'm doing the right thing or am I just making it worse. But I'm very sure as hell doing it for Elyza because I know... I know she needs me."
I smiled. That's right bro, that's right.
"So. . . what are you planning?" I asked.
He gave out a shaky breath. "I'm staying with her."
I grinned. Yay! There will be no tri-
"But you are still going because I am sending someone to be my replacement."
My mouth hang open. Darn it. I got no way out of this trip.
"Oh yeah?" I raise my brows, though he can't see me.
"She'll be there in less than a minute, wait for her and then off you go." He said.
I sighed. "You sure?"
Somehow I felt bad that he can't be able to come with us. This trip was his idea the whole time.
"Yep, you'll have fun. I have to go sis. Bye, have a safe trip, Love you!"
"Yeah, Love you too." I replied.
The call ended and I suddenly thought of how could I tell all of this to mom and dad. Should I just lie about the whole 'Elyza' thing? I sighed. I can't. We all know that I can't lie, I never did.
"Kendraaaaa sweeety!" A voice yelled.
I turned around and saw my favorite Blondie.
"Kaaaatyyy!!" I screeched.
Oh my God. Brett's plan was for Kaitlyn to be his replacement. I should've known, I could've thanked him. He's the best brother!... ugh. I never thought I'll ever say that. But yeah, things changed.
I was suddenly crushed in a bone-breaking hug. A Kaitlyn hug.
"God, I missed you!" She blurted.
I chuckled. "Really? You're such a drama queen!" I pinch her cheeks slightly, and she muttered something about people being so obsessed with her cheeks and it's ridiculous for her part.
Later on, she linked her arm with mine and we walked to my parents.
"Hey mom! Where's dad?" I asked.
She looked a bit taken- aback by Kaitlyn's presence. But then she smiled.
"Oh, she decided to come with us? That's perfect!" Mom chuckled.
I chuckled too. "Uh not really... Brett decided not to come with us. Where's dad anyway?" I wanted to change the subject as much as possible. Because I can't lie but I have to.
"WHAAT??!"
Oh great, here her outburst goes...
"Mom.. It-"
"Where is he? Why? Did you contact him?! Oh my gosh he can't miss the trip! Wh-"
"Mom.. Liste-"
"No! Where is your brother? I need to talk to him Kendra. He planned this all along, he has to be with us to that tr-"
"Mom!"
"TELL HIM TO GET HIS ASS HERE RIGHT NOW!" Her eyes are wide.
That silenced me.
Oh. Okay.
But the thing is, I can't. He can't. I can't just ruin his time with Elyza. I know it's very important, she's very important to him more than this trip. Even more than anything else.
"Mom... no. Listen, Brett... he has some things to work on with, very important things. He kind of just didn't tell us earlier but I'm sure it's really important, Mom. Let him do i, I promise he knows what he's doing."
Mom opens her mouth to say something but then closes it. She frowns then.
"So he dissed us because of that so-called-important thing?" She snorted. "What is it anyway?"
Shit, great. Way to get away with the freaking subject.
"Mom please... I'll explain it to you when we got to the plane, I promise." I clasp my hands together.
She seemed to buy it, thank goodness! Whoo.
Kaitlyn then suddenly nudged my shoulder which made me look at her.
She raised her brows. "What was that all about?"
I shrugged. "I'll explain it all later."
She stared at me suspiciously yet she was still convinced of what I said.
After that, and a numerous other questions from her, I glanced at my wrist watch that has arms pointing at 2:06. Great. And take note it's pm! Well, I guess there's no sleeping.
I'm wondering about something though. How could Kaitlyn still manage to be awake in this kind of time? Because let me just tell you, she's a sleepy ass!
"Come on girls, let's get to the plane." Mom chuckled at us.
I mirrored her chuckle as Kaitlyn also did.
Hmm...
I hope this trip will be something worth it. . . .
