We all have that course or class where we have to do the thing we dread more than dying. Yup! you guessed it.
PUBLIC SPEAKING!!! haha but don't worry I've got ya :)
Advice #1 - Wear something you feel confident in. Not just confident but super confident *can stand up in front of millions and give a runway walk kind of confident* This way you are not so self-conscious and can spend most of the time focused on talking instead of worrying about your outfit.
Advice #2 - Over-prepare. It is always important to prepare but if public speaking is your weakness then the key thing is to over-preprae rather than just prepare. Rehearse until you know your speech by heart and your brain can go on auto-pilot. This means that if you get super nervous and anxiety stops your thought process the words will still flow and your brain will switch to autopilot. Rehearse with the image of the audience before you. Try reciting in front of strangers (like a park) too to build up confidence.
Advice #3 - Get feedback. Find out from others how it went so that you can improve for your next speech or public speaking event.
Advice #4 - Smile. I would say this is the most important. Smiling sets your audience at ease and creates a warm atmosphere where they often smile back which can further ease your own nerves.
