AN// So after completing this story, I've seen numerous comments making it out that the main character is a werewolf/ this is a werewolf novel. Under no circumstances is this novel a fantasy based novel. The small lines in italics are her CONSCIENCE speaking, something every person experiences and has. Nothing more, nothing less. Much love to you my readers xx//

"Fighter will-" But I never find out what he was going to say because people suddenly swarm into the building, and all hell breaks lose.

Gunfire rings out around the room, and I watch, horrified as he falls to the ground.

Almost as if I'm watching the scene unfold in slow motion, I see people emerge from the shadows, but I couldn't care less as I watch a bloody flower blossom out of his chest, staining his grey shirt a dark colour, before pooling around his form.

I should run to him, put pressure on his chest, scream at them to stop. But instead, I stand there, somewhat calmly, despite my conscience screaming at me to do something, anything.

The gunfire is slowly getting heavier, and yet I'm still standing against the wall, watching this bloody scene unfold.

He moves his head in my direction, and the look of pain and peace on his face is such a stark contrast that it snaps me back to reality and I drop down next to him, tears beginning to stream down my face.

"No, no, no, no. Please, God, no." I murmur as I shrug off my coat and press it to his chest, trying to stem the blood.

He lifts his hand up and traces a finger along my bottom lip, up my cheekbone before cupping my face in his hand. He doesn't say a word, but I know he's trying to say goodbye.

"Goddamn it, you are not dying on me. You promised." I hiss at him.

He just smiles weakly, ignoring my attempts at slowing down the blood flow.

"I love you, idiot, you're not allowed to leave me." I whimper, slumping over his shirt, protecting him from a new round of bullets. When it stops again, I pull back but I keep a hold on the collar of his shirt and the dog tag chain that's around his neck, having no desire to lose contact with him.

I feel someone tugging on my shoulder, trying to pull me out of the building, but I shake them off frustrated. They persist and before I know it, they have managed to drag me away, me resisting them the entire way.

"He's gone Fighter, you couldn't have saved him no matter how hard you tried."

I let out a whimper, and they slap me hard, making me focus on them.

Alpha.

"Let's go." I nod at him.

We turn our backs and run for the entrance, but the next thing I know, I'm hitting the deck and a burning sensation spreads throughout my shoulder blade. Fuck
