"Makes sense that you got into paramedics Ivan. Means dad has men placed everywhere." I say as he cleans the split skin on my knuckles before bandaging them up.
"No punching anyone for a while, alright Alexis?" He says, standing up from where he was sitting next to me and ruffling my hair.
"Yeah, yeah. Whatever." I push his hand away and walk over to where Elijah is standing on the outskirts of everything, looking very awkward.
"That man's tried to kill you before?" He says in a hushed voice.
"That isn't exactly the type of story to be told in the presence of the law." I give him a look that basically tells him that this is a jail-worthy story and that he needs to keep his shit together while I figure out where I can tell him.
"When, then? Because I am really freaking out about what I've most likely just gotten involved in."
"When we get back to my place. Dad will help explain everything."
"So what? Are you a part of one of Germany's infamous gangs? And it's chasing you home?" His voice rises slightly with increasing panic.
I sigh, well looks like this is happening in the middle of an international airport.
I grab his arm, and with a look at dad, guide him off of the plane and into the gateway. Which is thankfully silent and empty. I lean up against a wall as he starts pacing.
"Alexis, what did you mean when you said that man's leader died a pitiful man? You didn't kill him did you?"
I sigh and rub my face with my hands. This poor guy is about to get a rather rude shock.
"Obviously, I'm in a gang. We avoid killing as much as possible, but vengeance is something that runs through us like oxygen, and when one of our own is murdered, well, it's only fair the one who did it pays with it in blood and their lives. I, however, normally settle for clean, with the only thing missing being their dignity and life. No blood." I whisper.
"This one, however, was extremely personal, and it got messy. Very, very messy. Made it very easy for them to trace it back to me."
"Who died?" He asks me.
"My boyfriend. Shot in the back at a party. The leader was aiming at me but H walked up behind me to start dancing with me. Worst best timing ever." I chuckled dryly, with absolutely no humour behind it.
"And the leader?"
"Dead. I beat him bloody after playing mind games with him for six months. Then I reduced a proud, strong man to a begging, crying mess before mutilating him." I say darkly.
"That's sick." He says, and I look up at him.
I'm in a gang, I was raised in a gang, I'm the resident "bad girl" scarily enough, killing in self-defence and vengeance is second nature just about. And he's calling it sick? Though I guess he wasn't raised like I was. Evident of the fact that he looks slightly paler than normal for us German natives.
I see people walking into the gateway from the plane from over his shoulder before shifting my gaze back to him.
"An eye for an eye, a life for a life, one soul for another. What you take you must receive in return." I tell him.
"So, in other words, you've got coming to you what you dished out to someone who killed one of your own? That's one vicious cycle, Fighter." He tells me quietly.
"Yeah, that's kinda why I came home, I have better protection here, and very few of them know I'm part American," I tell him.
"So you're what? A bad girl? Gang girl?"
I snort, I just told him I'd killed someone and that's one of the first things that comes to mind?
"Either term will suffice, I guess, Blue." I chuckle slightly.
"Alexis!" My dad calls out and in response, I walk around Elijah but stop next to him.
"Can you keep it together until we get to my house?"
He nods slightly, and I grab his hand and give it a light squeeze before letting go.
"Come meet my family then."
Again, he nods and turns around to face the same direction as myself as my family and my father's men walk up the gateway to where we stand.
