A Second Chance

the accident

I pull out of my drive right after Dylan I drive pretty slow I turn the radio on my phone off and drive.
After driving for about 10 minutes I'm in the middle of the country, there's no street lights or anything but for some reason drive though the country in the middle of night really calms me down. I drive for what felt like hours I cheak the time and, it's 9:50 mom and dad are probably worried so I start to drive home.

Mom's POV
It's almost 11 P.M and kaytlins still not home I'm really worried because I've tryed to call her phone and she's not answering.she had a doctor's appointment today and she was with Dylan all day. Her cars gone which is werid because I thought Dylan was driving her. I guess I should call Dylan. I pick up the phone and call Dylan the phone rings a few times then he picks up
" hey where are you at? Is kaylin with you?"
"No she's not home yet? I'm at home, she went for a drive, we kinda got into a small argument it wasn't serious and we both apologized she just said she needed time to think"
" well she didn't come home yet do you know Where's she was going?"
"No ill try and call her"
" I already did about 10 times, but if you get ahold of her please call me"
He says alright and I hang up the phone I go lay down and wait for her to come home. A few hours later i get a phone call. It's a police officer so I get really worried I say hello
"Hello is this miss david?"
"Yes?"
"Your kaytlins Davis mother?"
"Yes is she in trouble is she alright?"
"I'm afraid not, she's just had to be air lifted to the hospital she's in intensive care, can you be to to hospital as soon as possible?"
I Start crying I'm panicing
"I'll be there right away, what happend to her is she going to be okay?"
"She got into a car accident, it was very dark and she was far out in the county, luckly the person who hit her car was able to call an ambulance"
"I'm on my way what hospital?"
"Children's downtown it was closest"
I tell joey what happend, hes just as worried as me and wants to go to the hospital, I ask him to stay with the kids and to call Dylan and tell him that I'll call him as soon as fine more information out.
I drive to the hospital as fast as I can. I go to the front desk and ask for her room number and I go to talk to the doctor, he explained that she is on life support and that's there's a good chance she's in a coma.
I quickly tell him he's pregnant.
"oh my I had thought so well go check for a heart beat right away"
"Thank you, is she going to live?"I say crying
"I'm going to do my best, if she is in a coma all I can do is wait for her to wake up, it's up to her"
The doctor get a nurse and go's into the room. Room number 437, three numbers I'll never forget.
A few minutes later the doctor comes back and tells me he got the baby's heart beat and that it's doing okay. I call joey and tell him she's on life support I've been crying for atleast an hour I tell him that the baby's okay and ask if he called Dylan. He says yes and that hes coming up to the hospital. We're not aloud in the room with her right now so I stand at the window looking into her room crying, then Dylan gets there and comes up to the room and stands with me. I tell him everything the doctors told me and he's slightly relived that the babys okay.
