A Second Chance

Dylans POV
Elijah is actally really happy is making lots of cute baby noises, like he knows it's helping his mom, kaytlins doing amazing.
Kaytlins mom says she needs to go home soon, but I want to be here when kaytlin wakes up, so I tell her me and elijah are going to stay for a few more hours and my mom will come pick me up. I ask her to drop elijahs car seat off with my mom so she could come get us later.
Kaytlins mom leaves and about an hour later I walk to the cafeteria with elijah in myour arms to get some food, I don't want to leave kaytlins room for to long so I hurry and eat my food and free elijah some baby food.
I walk back to kaytlins room, and see her brain waves have calmed down so I start talking to elijah, telling him his mommys going to wake up soon, and that she's going to be very happy to see him, he giggles and starts making noise again. I continue playing with elijah, and then I heard noise coming from kaytlins she starts moving so I run to get a nurse, kaytlins nurse and doctor come to her room and look at the waves. The doctor looks at them, then looks at a peace of paper.
" her brain waves are normal, shes waking up" says the doctor
I call kaytlins mom and tell her to come right away. Kaytlins mom get there about 15 minutes later. Kaytlins mom is only on the room for about 5 minutes before kaytlin says
"Where's my baby?"
I'm about to cry, kaytlins mom is already in tears, the doctor and nurse are both smileing.
"She's awake"says the doctor
I go over to her bed
"Do you know who I am?" I ask her
Shes not talking as she usally would but the doctors say it's amazing that she's talking at all
"Dylan?" She ask me
I smile
"Yes baby it's Dylan can you remember anything that happend?"
"I had a baby" is all she says
Everyone looks confused how did she know that she had it already
"Where is my baby?" She ask again
Kaytlins mom holding elijah walks over to her bed
"Kaytlin do you know who I am?"
"Of course your my mom"
Everyone has a surprised look how dose she remember everything
"This is your baby kaytlin, he's 5 months old now" kaytlins mom tells her
"Elijah?"
Elijah starts smiling and making all kinds of baby noises
"I hate to interrupted this but we need to check her out and run some test. Its getting late so I suggest you guys say your goodbyes, and let us get her all checked out and you can come back tomarrow to see how everything gos" says the doctor
We tell kaytlin we will see her toamrrow, and she gets upset she wants to hold elijah, but the doctor says she's to weak and needs to be checked on first. We drive home and me and elijah lay down in my bed. Today had been a long day. My hope and prays and wishes came true elijah has his mommy back. But just because she's awake doesn't mean everything over and good. She could still have a lot of health problems, we are still teen parents, she still has to finish school, and the doctors say that there's a possibility she will have a lot of memory loss.
