Chapter 4: Why'd You Do That?

I walk with Peeta through the small town that has people only farming, I find it fascinating at how all these people are living like these and they're all mythical creatures that I never thought were real, it's the creatures people tell in ghost stories the things you look twice for when you've had a nightmare about them but I was never afraid of them, I wasn't afraid of anything and I think that was intimidating to my parents, they wanted me to be scared for my life, they wanted me to be scared of everything but I wasn't, I'm fascinated at all of the worlds animals and creatures even to the big lion to the small ant, I always find that interesting some how.

"So how you liking it here?" Peeta asks and I shrug as we sit by the lake where Prim and I once were a few days ago but I don't bring it up

"I guess it's okay. I mean I do want to adventure out. There's so many places I want to visit and explore so many animals and creatures to look at" I say

"You're not who I thought you were" he admits

"What do you mean?"

"I was thinking you were one of those delicate girls who were afraid of everything" he explains

"Well you thought wrong. Everyone has something that includes danger in their life"

"Yeah but I don't want you in danger" he says placing a hand on my cheek and my heart starts beating, insanely fast, I've never had this kind of contact before and before I say something he places his lips on mine and brakes away my lips having a tingling feeling

"Why'd you do that?" I ask as his forehead is on mine

"Because I love you" he whispers and I pull away from him

"I-I need to go" I stutter standing and running away, I don't know why I'm running but I don't stop, I just keep going, he kissed me and I don't know why, I guess I'm just so paranoid about boys now, I mean that's not the only time Cato wanted to have sex with me, he's wanted it a few times and my parents never did anything and I'm guess I'm paranoid that Peeta will do the same.

It's a short chapter I know. Sorry. And don't worry you'll start seeing Katniss x Peeta moments more in chapters.
