"Leave me," Erik whispered. I nodded, tears rushing down my face as he knelt before me. "But promise me one thing, will you, ange?"
"Yes, Erik. What is it?"
"Come back to me one day. Bury me with my music. Please."
"As you wish, Erik." My bottom lip trembled. Erik let go of my hand. Raoul, still out of breath and injured, took my hands, pulling me gently along. I took one last glance at Erik.
He sat on the ground, trembling. He was broken, and I couldn't fix him. No, I wanted to say, an angel should not be sad. Angels are happy.
"Are you alright, Christine?" Raoul whispered.
"I...I think I will be alright. I..." I don't want him to die, I tried to say. The words never came out. I just let Raoul take me away.
And the story begins! The first chapter of this might not be out for a month or so, as I have to finish my other book, "When I Hear You Sing." If you are new to my writing, hello!
