Two days later

There was supposed to be giant pack gathering tonight to join our pack with The Winter Sky pack. I didn't want to attend but my father thought it would be rude of me not to be here. Although I think he's making me come as punishment for both going to the woods and drinking the potion Edward gave me.

Anyways, so here I was listening to droning speakers, I could care less about and having strangers come up to me and act as if they were excited to be here. I may be blind but I'm not dumb.

I tapped Zuri's hand.

"What is it?" She asked softly, close to my ear.

"Wheel me out onto the terrace. I want some fresh air."

Once outside, I could feel the cool wind kissing my face. It felt relaxing.

"Need me to stay?" She asked.

I slowly shook my head no.

Her footsteps slowly faded away and I was left out here alone.

I sat there for a while doing nothing in particular, just relaxing and letting the wind calm me.

If I wasn't blind, I would see the moon in all it's glory.

I wonder what it looked like.

"What are you doing out here alone?"

The voice startled me and I nearly screamed. I couldn't pin point exactly where the voice was so I was stuck glancing around like an idiot.

But then it hit me. I couldn't see so why was I looking?

"W-who's t-there?"

"Can't you see me?" The voice felt closer this time. He had this intoxicating smell to him, one that was kind of addicting. It was like the woody smell of the forest which I loved so much, and the smell of rich spices.

I felt a gentle breeze in front of my face and I reached my hand out.

Whatever was there moved before I could touch it.

"Sorry, I was waving my hand in front of you to see if you could see me."

"Well, I can't. I was born blind."

"You never answered my question. What are you doing out here?" He asked.

"I felt stuffy and out of place, so I'm out here to enjoy the night."

"What's there to enjoy if you can't see it?"

I sighed. "You use you're imagination to imagine what it looks like. Then it becomes special to you, your own little picture."

"Really? That sounds cool." Suddenly he went quiet. "Can you do that for people too?"

I nodded uncertainly.

I felt him touch both my hands and place them gently on his face.

I slowly ran my fingers over his face. A strange feeling coming over me as I did so.

"You seem nice." I said. "Starry eyes, I suppose. A straight nose and high cheek bones. A handsome face it seems like."

He smiled at that. A big smile at that.

"And big constellation smile." I slowly took my hands away. "Those with the largest smiles tend to be the nicest or the most troubled people."

"What's wrong? You look depressed." He asked.

"I too have my own demons to face." I said looking up at the sky, in the direction I assumed the moon was in.

He placed a hand on my shoulder. "You seem like an amazing person. So don't try to bury your demons in the dark side of the moon." He sighed. "Don't hate yourself to please others. It's their fault if they choose to accept the darkness rather than to embrace your light."

With that he turned and started to leave.

"Wait!" I called. "I didn't get your name."

His footsteps stopped. "Payne, Darius Payne."

"Mine is Xander." I mumbled.

"Nice to meet you Xander, I hope to see you again" Darius then turned and left. Leaving me alone once again with my thoughts.

The clicking of heels soon invaded my thoughts.

"Who was that?" Asked Zuri's voice.

"Someone very interesting." I mumbled, more to myself than anyone else.
