Chapter 10 "Can I kiss you Maya?"
~Maya Hart's Point of View~
"What the hell are you doing back in New York?"
"I'm taking a break from college and I wanted to see my family. The real question should be, what are you doing here crying?"
I look up at my childhood crush and realize I must have looked like a mess.
"O-oh... that. It's nothing."
"It's obviously not nothing if you're crying about it. You're one of the strongest girls I know. If you're crying, then something must have happen."
And that ladies and gentlemen, is why I liked him in the first place. I can feel a blush come onto my face, embarrass by his sweet words.
"It-it's nothing. I've just been having a few crappy years, but I'm handling it."
"Well, whoever made you cry, don't let them have the satisfaction of still being in your life and having the power to make you cry."
I just stare at Josh, seeing such an amazing guy, but now I'm seeing him in a different light. Instead of seeing my crush, I see someone who's like an older brother.
"Can I kiss you Maya?"
My brain said yes, yes because I wanted this for the longest time, but my heart said no. No, because it belonged to someone else now.
"I-I'm sorry Josh, but I can't."
