Chapter 11 "Just kiss me already Huckleberry."

~Lucas Friar's Point of View~

The first place Riley and I decided look for Maya is the park, both of us knowing that's where she gets most of her inspiration. When we finally get there, we instantly spot Maya, but she wasn't alone.

"Is that my Uncle Josh?"

I've heard of Riley's uncle before, knowing Maya use to have a huge crush on him.

Am I going to lose her again? And to that guy?

"What the hell is he doing back in New York?" I turn my head to Riley, seeing confusion in her eyes.

"I guess we'll find out soon. Come on."

As Riley and I get closer to them, we start to hear their conversation.

"Can I kiss you Maya?"

Instantly my blood boil. Only I'm allowed to kiss her! I watch as the gears turn in Maya's head, until I heard a sentence that makes me smile.

"I-I'm sorry Josh, but I can't."

I watch my blonde beauty get up, running towards the direction of Riley and me.

"Speak to your uncle Riley. I'll take care of Maya."

She just nods, stalking over to her uncle. Just as Maya is about run past me, I grab her, hugging her tightly. At first, I feel her stiffen, most likely not recognizing it's me, but than she relaxes.

"I got you blondie." She looks up at me, her ocean blue eyes killed with sadness.

"Don't cry, please. I don't think I'll be able to see you so sad. You've been through so much, you don't deserve any of this."

"Lucas-"

"Shhhh. Just listen to me first. I- I really do love you. I know you might not be ready for this type of love or a relationship in general, but I just want you to know that I'll be willingly to wait, no matter how long. And if you find someone who makes you happy, that happens to not be me, then I'm okay with that. As long as you're happy, then I'll be happy. I just want to see you smile everyday, whether I'm the reason or not.

I truly do love you and I hope you feel the same way, but I'll never force you to do so. You've been through too much and you never deserve any of it or any that is happening now. You deserve the world and more and I hope I can provide you that."

Maya just stares at me and I prepare myself for rejection, knowing it's coming.

"Just kiss me already Huckleberry."

And I do just that, feeling the cliche fireworks that everyone talks about.

[Q/A/N: It's almost the end! Maybe an epilogue and that's it! I think this might be the end of this series, but if you guys want, I can add a short Riarkle story to either the end of this or make a new book. You guys decide though! I love you all and thank you for going through this journey with me!
