Chapter 8

Abby's P.O.V

"I'm leaving" Jacob came down the stairs wearing black skinny jeans, A black shirt and a black leather jacket. He had his hair slicked back too

"Have fun at work" I said

He ignored me and just walked out.

"Okay?" I said

"It's alright" Luke said and hugged my leg

"Do you guys wanna play a board game?" I asked

"Yeah, we have a lot. Come help me pick" Dylan said

Luke nodded furiously and I picked him up carrying him over to the cupboard

"Okay, so we have monopoly, mouse trap, hungry hippos?" I said I had never heard of that game

"How about we play mouse trap and hungry hippos?" I asked. I didn't want to read the rest of them

"Yes" Luke said. I put him down and he used his hands to make a biting sign like a Crocodile

"Hippo" He said while making a Crocodile snapping motion or in his case Hippo

Time flew by and we were laughing and having a great time. I made them both some sandwiches and the loved it.

Dylan wanted to watch tv but it was already 9 and Luke started to yawn.

"Where does Luke sleep" I asked

"Upstairs, we share a room. You wont miss it our names on the door and a lot of stickers" Dylan smiled

"Thanks, you can watch tv. I'll just put your brother to sleep" I smiled

Dylan walked off towards the living room and I walked over to the other side of the island bench and I picked up Luke.

He instantly wrapped his legs around me and put his head on my shoulder

"Are you sleepy?" I asked in a hush tone and he nodded slowly

I walked up the stairs until I got to the end of the hallway and saw their names on the door. I opened it and instantly spotted the difference between who's bed was who's.

Luke's bed had a couple of teddies and a cloud blanket

Dylan's was all black and his side had a laptop and a phone charger.

I lay Luke down and covered him with a blanket and sat down on the edge of the bed.

"Story, Story" He said clapping

"Which one?" I asked

"The blue bear" He said smiling

I pulled a book off the shelf that had the title blue bear.

"There was once a small blue bear, who wanted to be big" I said in a narrator tone voice kind of like the ones people telling stories to children use but it probably sucked.

"He really did try everything"

"He slept, and Ate and Even stretched"

"But he was still very young anyway" I held the book up so Luke could see the pictures

"Soon enough he started to grow" I said and Luke pointed at the pictures of the bear growing in size

"His mother said please grow slow" I said

"He was getting taller than mum"

"And too soon he was as tall as dad"

"He was tall enough that he showed his friends"

"They even said how did you get that tall when you were so small"

"He told them all about what happened"

"And it all came back to his parents, They fed him, and made sure he ate right. They let him sleep all the time"

"So all his friends tried it too"

"And some day you will be tall too" I finished the book and looked over at his peaceful little face as he slept.

I stayed a little while longer on the edge of the bed, texting my mum where I was and that I would be home a little late.

She didn't mind. She said she would stay up and wait for me but I told her not too and just leave the key somewhere and tell me where to find it.

After about 10 minutes I went back downstairs.

Dylan was watching a cartoon intensely. I sat down next to him on the couch against the wall.

"What are you watching" I asked

"Adventure time" He said

"I don't know if iv'e ever seen this" I laughed

"It's the only thing on right now" He shrugged

"Yeah but you like it" I smiled

"Yeah. It's a good show" He smiled and looked down

"Don't laugh!" He smiled looking at me and we both quietly burst out laughing.

My phone buzzed and someone knocked on the door.

Dylan got up and opened the door and I answered the phone

"Hello?" I asked

"Come get the key" Chloe said

I hung up and walked to the door and saw chloe talking to Dylan.

They were smiling at each other and He offered to walk her over after I had gotten my key off her.

I was watching them both from the window and I know It's creepy but I am babysitting and if something goes wrong I'm the one in trouble.

After walking her over they parted their ways and she went inside.

Dylan had a smile plastered on his face as he walked back.

He opened the door and locked it behind him, He came and sat next to me.

"I didn't know you had a sister" He smiled

"You do now" I smiled

"What grade are you in" I asked

"Grade 9" He said

"She's only in Grade 8" I said

"That's okay! We are neighbours so we can still be friends and we will still all see each other at school right?" He asked excitedly and in a rush

"Yes of course" I laughed and his face went red.

He put his attention back to Adventure Time.

I got up off the chair and walked back up the stairs to check on Luke.

I walked into their room and he was still peacefully sleeping. The little night light that had fish swimming around still on.

I walked out and curiosity got the best of me. I walked up the stairs and towards a dark door.

It had Jacob's name on it.

Or more like carved into it
