Every last piece of food had been consumed by the fifty other people who joined us on that day.

Every last glass of dinner champagne had been drunk and every last person was sat at the table waiting for the all important speech.

"You can do this." I encouraged Theo, "Just imagine that it's only me."

"Okay." He slowly raised from the little wooden chair.

Little did I know that he was nervous for a very good reason because his speech gave off a few surprises.

"Hello," Theo started, "Can I have your attention?"

Noise from the surrounding people faded out and all you could hear was the sound of Theo's glass.

"First of all, I would like to thank every person that is here today - it is greatly appreciated. It is not everyday you are able to marry the person you love the most.

It's not everyday, we get to celebrate our lives to this extent. However, everyday I spend with this beautiful human makes me feel like I should celebrate everything because she is that intelligent and beautiful."

At this point everybody made the cliché "Awww!" Noise.

"When you have obstacles in the way of being with your love, it can all be a little bit complicated. Whether the obstacle in the race is a small argument over the dishwasher or 10500 miles."

"The truth is, I would have travelled 10500 miles everyday if I could of, just to see you! You make me so happy and I am grateful for whoever decided you were my person!"

"When I first met you, you were at a party and I had no idea why you were alone. I took your misery and tried to make you happy by giving you an adventure."

"I think everybody should be aware that Mia's father wanted to be here so badly but sadly passed away a little while ago. He asked me a few hours before he passed if I would stay with Mia while she was grieving. I knew what he meant. Mia would never stop grieving over the loss of such a wonderful man. Therefore, I could never leave her - he was such a clever man and Mia clearly carried on his intelligence. I gladly accepted and promised that I would spend more time with the person I loved the most. We told Mia that it was her brother and Lilly that called me  - but it wasn't."

"When I came back to find her engaged it broke my heart. It was such an abnormal feeling because I wasn't happy, I wasn't sad, I wasn't angry, not disappointed - I just felt empty."

"At that point, realisation kicked in and I thought about all the times I am selfish in a day! I always say "I," and it's ridiculous because now everything amounts to you, Mia."

"When I left you the first time, you said that you didn't want me to leave and do the new film. I knew you wanted me to go and live my dream but you couldn't be apart of it and that broke us both."

"The truth is, you are the new project - and you're the best one yet!"

"A toast to love, marriage and my new, beautifully intelligent wife: Mia!"

Theo finished his speech and all I could hear was clicking of champagne flutes. When I heard a voice.

"Don't let him go, Daisy." The voice said.

"He is such a wonderful man who you are lucky to have. Make sure you take good care of him!"

I turned to see who it was but I could recognise the voice. Dad.

"Dad?" I questioned.

"It's okay, go enjoy your wedding day. I know that your brother is doing the daddy, daughter dance... Good luck with that..."

He laughed and then walked away.

I whispered something under my breath because I knew I was the only one who could see him:

"Bye daddy, thanks for everything."
