A Promise

Jen is holding Emme as she says goodbye to Mark, Max hugs his dad and then jumps on my back as I grab my bag, I guess we became quick friends well playing race game. I laugh and see Jen smiling at us. We go outside and of course there is paparazzi waiting for us.   We just walk fast as I grab Jen's hand behind me to guide us to my car, thank God Max was on my back and Emme was in Jen arms covered with a hoodie poor baby people would make fun of her. I unlock the jeep open the back door for Jen, then her's as well she puts Emme in the back I go around and help Max in the back putting his seat belt on, then getting in the jeep staring it and once Jen is in, I Pull out and make our way back to Jen's house. I look back and both kids are extremely tired, Emme is asleep and max is nodding his head, I turn and glance at Jen, I see a tear has left her eyes, she try's so hard to be strong and never cry, I take my hand and place it on her hand on her lap and give it a squeeze. She squeezes back, she looks back on the kids "Hey Sam we need to make a quick  stop at CVS and pick up Emme's meds there's one in two blocks on the left" " Okay we can drive through it will be faster the kids are past out."I say and She huffs " I'll just run in really fast, I have to grab something else too can you stay in with the kids" " Sure whatever you need I'm here for you" we get to CVS I park and Jen get out walk fast inside, as I wait I text Stacy that I'm fine and will be home later tonight, then I text Keith letting him know that I'm a maybe tonight still. Demi tagged me on Twitter and started following me on IG people are going crazy I send her a text.

Jen comes back with a couple things sides Emme's pills, and we hit the road again I pull into the drive way, the kids are still asleep Jen unlocks her door and I take Max as she grabs Emme we bring them into the living room and place them on the couch and put blankets on each of them. We make are way into the kitchen and Jen puts the bags on the counter I get a couple glass and fill them with water she puts Emme's pills on the counter and she got Emme a stuff animal and Max a new puzzle game. I just look at Jen and can see the hurt and fear in her eyes as she almost lost her Emme. I open my arms to her and hug her for a long time. She begins to cry softly, I just hold her harder until the crying stops I kiss her forehead and told her I ordered pizza for everyone and that I'll text her in the morning. As I'm leaving I tell her to talk to beau. You don't need to be alone tonight, and I'm not your forever. Beau is. im just your friend a really good friend. Jen smiles and kissed my lips and hugs me one last time. "Sam last night was one of my best nights ever, thank you, will have to do it again sometime" " Promise " I say, she takes my hand and wraps her pinky finger around mine and says "I promise, I'll text you and let you know how the kids are doing" we hug and I get into the jeep and go home, I see Stacy & we just talk little bit about my dinner with Jen and made up where I went that night and what not. She doesn't need to know everything. I grab a shower and get ready for dinner with Keith.

Well I'm getting ready I see my phone blowing up, I have 5 text from Chad, a miss call from Chad and one from Keith two from Demi. She probably want her shirt I say to myself, grabbing a cute top that's blue with lace on it that shows my stomach a little I grab my phone see that Keith will be here in 10 minutes  and call Chad? "Dude what's up? I'm kind of busy,  you didn't burn the store down did you? "
"No! Sam I didn't A) I miss you and can't believe they made you take a vac who does that! And B) you were in Tmz! I send you photos! Wtf you were with Jen this morning! Explain!"
"Chad, what are you talking about I was just driving around and happen to be at the same place as her. I was meeting Keith at his work..." I say lying through my teeth I but my phone on speaker and look at the photos, it's of Jen and I at the hospital walking in, her first and me trailing along a couple feet behind. Thank god it looks like nothing. I'm to engaged in my phone for it to look like I notice Jen in front of me. I'm listening to all his thoughts as I finish getting ready I slide my pants on then my heels. " Chad I have to go Keith is here" " wait you really have a date with a doctor?" Yeah not Keith is a nurse at the child's doctors. bye i gotta go" " Sam you can do better come on! See you later!"

I hang up and go down to open the door but to my surprise it's Demi! "Hey what's up?" " um you never texted me back how was it?!" Yeah I did, it was nice she is great!" " where are you going looking all sexy like that?!" I blush " I have a date who should be here any minute" " oh really! Give me the details" she says let pushing herself in, I look and her and laugh a little, " well if you must know he's a nurse at the child's hospital. His name is Keith he's cute. Blonde hair blue eyes. She comes closer, " hmmmm will see if I approve" she quickly kisses my lips and makes her way to the couch. I laugh. You know you might as well just be living here. I giggle, making my way to the hall mirror, there's  knock at the door and I open it, there Keith is standing with flowers in a purple button up and jeans. Cute I think to myself purple is his color. " Hey! I take it you found it alright! Aw thank you, come in, let me just put these in water! " yeah it was a pretty easy drive I live like 7 blocks south! I hope you like them,  didn't know what kind of flowers you like" " well thank you make yourself at home of and that Demi, she practically lives here" as I walk into the kitchen putting the roses in a vase and grabbing my bag I see them making small talk and Demi just looks at me and smiles, why does she's have to be so cute, "ready?" I say to Keith "All set, your car awaits" we leave and I tell Demi to lock the door when she leaves she smacks my ass as I'm closing the door.

Keith opens the door for me, we make small talk on the way to the restaurant. I found out he graduated UCLA, he played baseball and basketball in high school and played baseball at UCLA.  During dinner we each have a small glass of wine and water I have a chicken salad and he has some kind of pasta. We talk about life in general, what we do, he finds it crazy that I work at two different Starbucks and play extras he always wanted to be and extra, Keith plays the guitar he wanted to be In a band but it never happen, I found out he has a 4 year son  name  Brandon, which I thought was cute brown hair blue eyes and he is Autistic, he has a mild form, he has a hard time learning and talking to others he rather be alone. Keith ex girlfriend left when Brandon was 1 years old, she said she couldn't deal with such a thing, that totally broke my heart. Keith's parents help take care of Brandon. A couple hours pass by and we are walking the stars of Hollywood before we leave it around 9:30 pm,I keep feeling my phone buzz. Keith and I really hit it off, I look at my phone and see three missed calls from Jen and a voice mail. " Hey I gotta check my phone sorry it's important" "Yea go ahead!" I listen in and I can tell Jen is upset" I text her and tell her I'll be there soon! " Hey Keith I hate to end this but I gotta go! I Give him a kiss on the cheek tell him I'll text him later and grab a cab!
