My mind wandered to the day when my family and I first moved into this town. The house was on an empty street with only 4 houses, and no one else from the human population for at least 45 minutes.

The nice elderly couple lived across from us, they always brought over cookies and used to watch me as a child. Beside them was a couple in their mid thirties with 4 kids that always made a lovely ruckus. Beside us, were spouses who were great friends with my mom and dad, and they also had a son my age - who I may watch through the windows at times.. Then me, mom and dad.

A town of only 14 people.

Well, if you count my Great Dane, then there's 15.

It is utterly boring with no place to go for miles, and the only way out is to go outside. Plus, the service out here is horrible.

I dragged my ass out of bed at 5:30to make it to school on time, countless times I have asked my mom to home-school me, but she refused and told me I needed to get out 'socialize'. That's nearly impossible considering we lived 40 minutes away from the city. My mom is insane.

It took me a whole hour and a half to shower, do my hair and make-up, eat breakfast, and to make sure I was dressed and had everything I needed for school. Slinging my bag over my shoulder, I walked out of my door and ridiculously long pathway to my car. I got inside throwing my bag in the backseat, halfway down the street, a figure started running towards my car.

My next door neighbor, Jace, was out of breathe when I opened up door and got out. He looked relieved to see me and slowed down his pace. "My car... it... broke down... ride... with you can I?" I struggled to keep from laughing.

"Get in, Jace," I rolled my eyes playfully. Jace sighed in relief and climbed in my passengers seat, throwing his backpack in the backseat beside mine.

"Thank you so much, Milly," Jace thanked me. Smiling on the inside, I waved it off. It was no problem at all driving my crush since birth to school.

On the way to school, Jace had asked me a ton of questions. Some of which I tried to return. My social awkwardness made it difficult but Jace had managed to talk as if we had been bestfriends for years, which I greatly appreciated.

Once we got to school I was a little disappointed that my car ride with Jace was over, but a little relieved that I couldn't embarrass myself any further. "Bye Jace, have a good day!" I smiled running off towards the building, and into the lounge where my friends always were.

"Milly! Do I need to get my eyes checked?" my friend, Jana, asked me. Behind her my other friends stood up as I blinked at her, confused.

"Did Jace Hampton just step out of your car?" Lulu asked also. Brandon and Nick stood behind them, with their eyebrows raised.

"You know how he is my neighbor?" they all nodded their heads in unison. "Well, his car broke down and he needed a ride to school, so I brought him."

"Oh, okay." Lulu shrugged. They all returned to their seats and moved onto a different subject. Before the bell rang for class, I saw Brandon send me a wink.

the hell....?

The day passed by in a blur, and I found myself sitting in my car texting my mom and waiting for Jace, I didn't want to leave him here when I may be his only ride home. He emerged from the building by himself, looking around the parking lot. Jaces' eyes landed on my car when he started to jog towards it.

He was about to come over to my side when I ran out of my car and back into the school. My legs took me to the bathroom- what I needed to use. I sighed when I walked out and found Jace still by my car, he gave me a weird look when I got to the drivers side.

"I had to pee," I smiled sheepishly. Jace kneeled to the ground as his chest started to rumble with laughter. "Stop laughing at me!"

"Sorry, sorry. It's just funny because you looked like you were running a marathon!" Jace chuckled again.

"Okay, time to shut up now and get in the car." I demanded as I got in. Jace sobered up and got in next to me.

"Ooh, she's feisty." My cheeks burned as I started the ignition. I slipped on the radio and we rode in silence until Jace decided to talk again.

"How's your day been?" he asked me.

"Eh, it was good I guess. Yours?"

"The use. Boring." he snorted.

"Sorry if I'm boring you. I never really talk much." I apologized sneaking a glance at him. He only smiled.

"It's fine with me, I actually find it cute." Once again my cheeks burned. We talked the whole way home, and I found myself replying and warming up to Jace. When we pulled up in my drive-way I felt a pang of disappointment.

"Well, looks like I'll see you tomorrow, yeah?" I turned to look at him. He slowly nodded and began to climb out of my car.

"Bye Milly!" he called to me as he crossed the lawn to his house. I smiled at his back and made my way up to my house. There was a note attached to the fridge, it read.

Honey,

Sorry but you're father and I won't be able to make it home tonight. I know it is your first time staying alone, but don't be scared. Invite Lulu, Jana, Nick or Brandon over, doesn't matter. Dinner is in the fridge, you're favorite.

Love,

Mom

To be quite honest, I was scared. I have never spent the night alone before, I would call one of my friends, but they hate coming to my house since it is so far away.

Looks like I'm alone tonight.

I decided to lock the door early since my parents weren't coming home. My mom had also left me my afternoon snack. It was oreos. Score!

After I did my homework, I sat up in my room and silently watched Law and Order: SVU. It was weird without my mom or dad here, but I managed.

Right when I walked from my bathroom, I saw something black crawling towards me. I let out an ear piercing scream and jumped onto my bed.

"This is why I can't be alone!" I screamed to no one. The spider started to crawl towards my bed and I threw everything in my reach. Soon, I was out of ammo and clinging to my headrest.

A black fucking spider was fucking crawling towards my fucking bed.

Shit.

Since this is my first authors note it is going to be awkward....
