I gazed in horror at my reflection.

I loved my mom and Mollie with all my heart. But this dress was just awful.

This was the first store we walked into and instantly my mom and Mollie just grabbed a random dress off the shelf and shoved me in the dressing room.

My heart wished they had a better fashion sense than this. It was your cliché dress with poofy sleeves and ruffles galore glittered with sparkles on every centimeter and buttons. Yes. Buttons.

"Come on out, honey!" Donna yelled to me. She must've just gotten here.

I opened the door sheepishly and stepped out. Donnas jaw dropped. I could hear my mother along with Mollie's excited voices buzzing about which colors would 'compliment' me. When I was was about to ask Donna about her frozen state, she turned around and laughed.

Yes. She laughed.

"I'm done." I said marching back into the dressing room.

"No, honey. You don't even look tha-" Donna couldn't even finish her sentence.

"I'm SO done!"

"Did you see the sleeves! The ruffles!" She snorted. "Oh my god! And the buttons!"

"We brought more dresses!" My mom sang through the door. And she literally sang.

"They are not like the first one, honey." Mollie cooed through the door. Donna's uncontrollable laughter died down and she sobered up an apology.

I sighed and opened the door, holding out my arm for the dresses. Once I felt the cool metal of the hangers I hung the six up on the hook. "There's more!" My mom said when I was about to close the door.

I flung my shirt over my head and pulled the door open. All three women walked in and put up their dress choices. After, they walked out. "Hurry up darling we still have more shopping to do!"

Obeying my commands, I grabbed a random dress from a hook and slipped it on. Each time I walked out, my family gave their opinions about each dress. Head shake- no. Smile- yes. Gasp- hell no.

There were less smiles than you would think. A dress had to have two yes's to be put in the consideration pile. Also, there were dresses I skipped to avoid the pain. They were so classy or so ugly I would've been humiliated either way. I was skimming through the dresses until I ran my fingers over some tulle. Piled underneath all the long dresses was a reddish-pink dress.

Grabbing the dress, I slipped it over my head. When I turned around and saw my reflection, I gasped. The top was woven with diamond studs along each piece, and the bottom was all tulle and it came to my knees.

My family's jaws dropped when I stepped out of the dressing room. "I like this one." I told my mom.

"Okay, honey," my mom smiled, "we will get this one." Mollie and Donna brought my mom and I into a group hug.

"You're smashing the dress!" Mollie squealed. We all laughed and I went back in to change into my clothes. My mom took my dress to the counter to pay for it while Mollie and Donna came in to help me hang up all the dresses.

"Okay, now it's time to go shoe shopping!" They cheered.

"When's lunch?" I asked as they pulled me out of the store.

"Oh I guess we could eat before we go shoe shopping." My mom sighed. Internally, I thanked the lords. We sat at a table and I took everyone's orders and went to get the food.

Twenty minutes later, after being hit on twice (my family made it clear that Jace and I were soul mates), we went shoe shopping.

Never have I seen so many heels in my life. They only brought in red or silver pumps for me to try on. If it went with my dress, I had to put both heels on and walk in them. If not, they were given to a poor worker who had to put all of these shoes up.
