**Zayn POV**
My face hits the cement, and I wince in pain. Pain jolts through my body, the impact of his foot stinging and I cry out in anguish.
"Let's have a rematch, punk," the voice growls. I blink a couple time and notice a man with one foot pressing down into my stomach, a dragon tattoo on his arm.
"Mike," I groan. He sinks his foot deeper into my midsection and I cry out.
"Zayn," he spits.
"What the hell?"
The pressure is removed and I turn my head slowly to see a figure staring at the scene, his body rigid.
"Fuck off," Mike growls, stepping closer to the person. They don't even flinch as Mike gets in face to face with him, and suddenly I wonder who the stranger is, to not be scared of Mike.
"You're beating him to death," the stranger accuses.
"Mind your own fucking business," I hear the two bodies tumble to the ground and I hear a howl of pain, followed by a thump.
I lift myself up and notice the stranger is standing there, alone, Mike nowhere to be seen. He's wearing dark jeans and a dark hoodie , the sleeves rolled up to reveal muscular arms covered in tattoos. His blonde hair, tinted pink, is styled up into a quiff that hides under his sweatshirt. The blue eyes staring back into mine burn with an intensity I've never seen before in a person.
"Y'all right there mate?" he hold out a hand to help me up and hoists me up off the ground.
"Yeah, thanks," I mumble.
"I'm Niall,"
"Zayn," I shake his hand.
"Did you know that guy?" he asks. For the first time, I notice his thick Irish accent, probably because I wasn't able to think straight.
"Yeah, he's just this guy I met at a bar, we had a fight and he took it a bit too seriously," I say, and he frowns.
"A bit too seriously, ya think?"
"I was drunk that night, and just looking for a fight with anyone, it wasn't about anything, I just needed to be in a fight,"
He raises his pierced eyebrows at me.
"Are you new in town?" I ask, changing the subject. He stares at me a little longer before nodding.
"Yeah, I have a friend who just transferred to the high school here, and he wanted me to too so I did." Niall shrugs.
"Who's your friend?"
"We went to boarding school together, ya know him? Liam Payne?"

**Callie POV**
"Danielle? It's Callie," I say softly through the motel door, and the door opens.
"Thank you," she whispers, taking the hot chocolate I ordered her. The TV was on and the news was on, the volume turned down all the way.
"How long are we going to stay here?" Danielle's innocent voice whispers.
"I don't know, however long it takes for mom to get her shit together," I say bitterly. She sighs and turn off the TV, flopping down onto the bed.
"Can you put on some music?"
One thing Danielle and I shared was our taste in music. Jake mostly liked hip hop and rap, that kind of music that we couldn't stand. Danielle and I had always loved rock, hard rock, old rock, any type or rock, really. As long as there were powerful vocals backed by guitars and drums, it was our kind of music. The love of Sleeping with Sirens we shared was something that only we could understand, the music literally was our escape from reality and their songs really did mean a lot to us.
"Did you know, that I went to a Sleeping with Sirens concert?" I say, grinning slightly.
"You what," she shoots up and looks at me as if I was crazy.
"Yeah, my friend Zayn bought me tickets to the concert, for my birthday a couple weeks ago,"
Danielle doesn't move, paralyzed by shock, but mainly jealousy.
"How were they live????" she practically screams. Her eyes widen and she clamps a hand over her mouth.
"Amazing," My eyelids start to close, and her light body falls onto the bed next to mine, and I drift off into a sound sleep to the sound of my favorite band's music.
