After Danielle pesters me more, I insist I'm fine, so she and Harry spontaneously decide to go to the grocery store to get food, and leave me home so I can mope in my sadness. Of course, that's what always happens. They see me sad, and they go to do something else because they don't want to hang around my pathetic miserable self.
I grab my phone and head out to the main living area, and plug it into the iHome. Scrolling through the songs, my eyes land on a song that perfectly fits my life right now. I press play and hit repeat, then go to the corner of the room and grab Harry's guitar.
What nobody in this world knows about me, is that I taught myself to play guitar. And not to brag or anything, but I'm actually pretty good at it.
(A/N: the song is Roger Rabbit by Sleeping with Sirens aka one of my favorite bands of all time and their songs are literally the most beautiful pieces of music to ever exist go listen to them please discovering them was ultimately one of the best things to ever happen to me thanks ok bye carry on)
Is there a right way for how this goes?
You got your friends and you got your foes
They want a piece of something hot
Forget your name like they forgot
Oh
Ain't that something
I strum the guitar to the tune, singing along to the perfect song to the band that means everything to me.
Some want to see you crash and burn
Criticize your every word
I'm trynna keep from going insane
Ain't that the way of this whole damn thing
Oh, Trying to be something, more
With every verse, every lyric, every syllable, I feel my heart flutter with an indescribable feeling, inspiring me to turn the music louder.
Nobody's gonna love you
If you can't display a way to capture this
Nobody's gonna hold your hand
And guide you through
No it's up for you to understand
Nobody's gonna feel your pain
When all is done and it's time for you to walk away
So when you have today
You should say all that you have to say
(Oh say all that you have to say)
(Oh)
The indescribable feeling fills every fibre of my being, literally consuming me and I strum the guitar louder, singing louder.
Is there a right way for being strong
Feels like I'm doing things all wrong
Still I'm here just holding on
Confess my heart and forgive my wrongs
Oh just trying to show you something, more
For a little bit, I focus on my voice, and I realize it drips with passion and heartache at the same time.
Nobody's gonna love you
If you can't display a way to capture this
Nobody's gonna hold your hand
And guide you through
No it's up for you to understand
Nobody's gonna feel your pain
When all is done and it's time for you to walk away
So when you have today
You should say all that you have to say
One single tear escapes my eye.
Don't point the blame when you can't find nothing
Look to yourself and you might find something
It's time that we sorted out
All of the things we complain about
So listen close to the sound of your soul
Take back a life you led once before
The feeling becomes more and more clear to me as I continue with the song, my voice and Kellin's in sync.
If it ain't you then who?
If it ain't you then who is gonna love you?
The last verse rings through my head like an alarm, inspiring me, and I finally realize what the feeling was.
It was hope.
Nobody's gonna love you
If you can't display a way to capture this
Nobody's gonna hold your hand
And guide you through
No it's up for you to understand
Nobody's gonna feel your pain
When all is done and it's time for you to walk away
When you have today
You should say all that you have to say
So when you have today
You should say all that you have to say
I finish the song and carefully place the guitar back in its stand.
I smile, for the first time in god knows how long, because I feel like I have hope.
Hope is the one emotion that can save lives. Not love, not happiness, not pride, not excitement; just hope. Because when you have hope, you feel like you have a chance to beat the game that is life in the cruel world of ours.
You know what Kellin was trying to teach us in that song? That in life, you're going to have to get through it yourself. Nobody else is going to be able to help you with it, because you're the only one who has control over your life and your happiness.
"Nobody's gonna hold your hand
And guide you through
No it's up for you to understand
Nobody's gonna feel your pain." I sing quietly to myself.
Wow.
Bands really do save lives.
A/N: i really enjoyed writing that chapter because basically all i had to do was write out my feelings. i didn't have any school today so i decided to update :)
