Is This Love?

MAYA POV

"So, how are things going with you and Lucas?" My mom asks.

"Really good! We just had our first kiss and it was amazing. I felt butterflies the whole time. He makes me feel incredible."

"AWWW! Tell me more, baby," Katy says as she sits down in front of maya.

"He really cares about me and when he kisses me, it's like we're the only two people in the world. I love when we cuddle and when his arms are wrapped around me, I feel so safe and comfortable with him. He always tells me how my laugh is his favorite sound and my smile makes him so happy"

Tears start forming in Katy's eyes.

"You are growing up, my little girl is in love"

I freeze right then and there. Lucas. And. Me. In love?!??!!!

"Love?" I ask shocked, my face pale.

"Baby girl, I'm not telling you what you're feeling, it's just that it sounds like love. It's a good thing, Maya you don't have to be scared of falling in love"

Was I scared? I didn't even realize if it was love or not. I just know that I like him and care about him a lot.

"But, I'm too young to be in love"

"Have Cory and topanga's relationship taught you nothing? You are never too young to fall in love! Those two have been in love since they were 2. I'm not saying that you and Lucas are in love, that's just what it sounds like to me"

"I'm 14."

"Anything is possible, baby"

I hug my mom and start thinking. Is this love?

"Mom, is it bad that I'm scared?"

"No, of course not, honey!" She rubs my arm to try to comfort me.

"It's just that you and dad were in love and he left you"

Tears roll down my mom's face as she pulls me in for a warm embrace.

"Maya, honey Kermit is different from Lucas! First of all you guys are just dating and second, Lucas is a great guy! He truly cares about you and that is something I can't say Kermit did for me"

The hug breaks apart.

"Mom, I think I love Lucas"

She pulls me in for another hug.

LUCAS POV

"Hey, can I talk to you?"
Lucas asks his dad.

"Sure, partner what's up?"

"I think I'm in love with Maya and I need your help. I don't know how to tell her."

"Son, you're too young to be in love! You're only 14 years old"

"It's just that lately, I've been having these strong feelings for her that I've never really had before. I just want to be with her all the time, I love the way her hair smells when I hug her, I love when we kiss, she smiles into it, I love when we're cuddling, her head fits perfectly in my neck when my arm is wrapped around her, I love when she calls me huckleberry and ranger Rick, I love when we're in class and she always looks back at me and smiles, I love her laugh, I love when we watch movies and she throws popcorn in my mouth, I love when she jokingly insults me, I love when she talks about her art, I love when she shows me her art, I love her eyes, I love everything about her. I'm not sure about a lot of things, but when I look at Maya, I'm sure that I love her"

I sit down and try to get my cheeks to stop blushing because every time I think about her, my cheeks turn redder than anything.

"Damn"

"Damn what?" I ask

"I didn't realize you felt this way"

"I didn't either"

"Do it!" My dad says.

"What?"

"Tell her you love her. Just say it"

"That's it?"

"You wanted my advice? There you go! Tell her you love her. It's that simple."

I leave the room and start out the door, walking toward the subway to go to Maya's house. I finally arrive and ring her doorbell.

*DING DONG*

Maya comes to the door, looking beautiful. I am so lucky.

"Lucas what are you do--" I was cut off by Lucas' lips crashing into mine. I smile into the kiss and as our lips part, our foreheads attach, his arms wrapped around my waist.

"Maya, I am so in love with you"

Maya's face went red and her eyes grew three sizes. But then, the biggest smile overtook her face and she opened her mouth.

"Lucas, I am so in love with you, too"

I pull her in for a warm and tight embrace, when the sound of clapping interrupts us.

It's Katy clapping for us.

"Awwwwwwww!!!! You guys are so cute," Maya's mom exclaims.

We are cute, aren't we?
