Movie Night

MAYA POV

"Are you excited for tonight? Im excited for tonight! Tonight is gonna be the best night ever.. oh wait that's every night," Riley excitedly says to me as we are walking down the hallway in school.

"Riles calm down! we're just having a movie night like always," I reply.

"Yeah, but this time my boyfriend is coming and Lucas is coming too and I know how much he likes you. It's gonna be perfect," Riley exclaims back at me.

"He doesn't like me, Riley what are you talking about?"

Riley stops both of us right there in the hall and starts laughing.

"Are you kidding me, Maya? Of course he likes you. Don't you see the way his eyes grow ten sizes when he looks at you and he always calls you beautiful and for crying out loud he told Zay you are the blonde beauty," Riley says.

"That doesn't mean anything, Riles let's just go to class and listen to your dad teach us a life lesson about our own lives," I reply, screaming inside because LUCAS LIKES ME. If Riley finds out I'm even the least bit excited, she'll never stop being overly excited about it.

*LATER ON AT RILEY'S HOUSE FOR MOVIE NIGHT*

Farkle, Lucas and I enter Riley's house through her window as usual. The only thing unusual is the way Riley greeted Farkle with a kiss. I will never get used to the fact they are dating but in a way, they are perfect for each other. I've never noticed it before, but this time I saw the way Lucas' eyes lit up when he saw me and I all of a sudden got butterflies which I've never had before, especially over a boy.

"So, what do you guys want to watch? Scary or funny or romantic?" Riley asks.

Lucas and I both love scary movies and immediately turn to face each other and exclaim "scary". 

"Ok so we've got "insidious", "paranormal activity" and "nightmare on elm street" which one?" Riley says.

"INSIDIOUS!" Farkle, Lucas and I exclaim in unison.

We all get situated on the blankets and pillows Riley had set up for us. Of course, Riley and Farkle got all cuddled up under the blankets together looking like the cute couple they are and Lucas and I were kind of awkwardly just sat next to each other.

"Hey, peaches can you turn the lights off?"

I groan and reluctantly get my lazy ass up to turn off the lights as the movie starts. Lucas gestures for me to sit back next to him and he puts his arm around me. I'm sure it's just as friends, but I love this feeling of his arm wrapped around me. I feel safe and warm and the butterflies in my stomach have turned to huge pigeons that are flapping their gigantic wings all around my stomach.

*LATER THAT NIGHT*

The movie has been playing for a while and Riley and Farkle fell asleep. Lucas and I looked at them and realized we were technically alone. Lucas' eyes met mine and it was as if there was a magnetic attraction between them because not once did his beautiful eyes leave mine. This magnetic pull only got stronger as he starts leaning in and we both close our eyes. When our lips met, it was like the fourth of July. Fireworks were everywhere, sparks were flying. I didn't realize it, but I have been waiting for this moment for a long time. Our lips disconnected and our foreheads attached as we both smiled.

"That was... amazing," Lucas whispers to me. I giggle and nod in agreement.

"I have been waiting forever to do that, Maya, I am so in love with you and i have been for so long" He whispers back to me.

"I didn't realize it until you leaned in, but I've been waiting for this moment for a long time, huckleberry, I've been in love with you too," I reply. Lucas pulls me in for a hug and he kisses me on the top of my head. Our hug breaks and his arm is still wrapped around me, our hands intertwined and my head rests atop his chest.
