Mac's POV

About a week after Demi told me about the vacation, we got on a plane and took an eleven-hour trip to Cozumel, Mexico. Both of the twins fell asleep about an hour in. I was sitting by the window next to Demi. I had my headphones on and my head against the side of the plane. I looked out of the window and saw the biggest clouds I'd ever seen. I wanted to reach out and touch them, but obviously that was a bad idea, considering we were currently a mile above the ground.

Demi put her arm around me. I looked over to see that she was looking out the window too. After a moment, she looked at me and smiled.

"I love you," she mouthed.

I smiled and made a heart shape with my hands. She chuckled. I took off my headphones.

"You're a weirdo," she said.

"I know, so are you."

The captain's voice came through the intercom telling us to put on our seat belts because be were about to start the descent. The trip had flown by. Pun intended.

Demi sat up and buckled her seat belt and looked to see if I had buckled mine. I was fumbling around with it, but with my tiny hands, it was difficult to control the buckle.

Demi reached over and buckled my seat belt for me with ease. I looked at her.

"I'm not a baby. I could've done it myself."

"By the looks of it, no, you couldn't have."

I rolled my eyes at her and looked out the window as we passed through one of the enormous clouds.

I closed the window shutter. As we grew closer to the ground, I started to hear the sound of rain on the windows. Great. The first day of our beach vacation, and it was raining. This was exactly how I wanted my first day at the beach to go.

Demi looked at me with concern. She obviously saw the look of annoyance on my face.

"You okay?"

"Yeah, fine."

Demi left it at that. I fiddled with my sleeves.

About half an hour later, I felt the plane hit the ground. Once it stopped moving, I unbuckled my seat belt and stood up. Demi did the same. I saw Nick picking up Gracie. Demi went over and picked up Gabe.

Once we all had our carry-ons, we walked into the airport. Through the window, I saw that the sky was dark and it was still raining. Lovely.

I saw that both Nick and Demi were holding one of the twins' hands and walking toward the luggage carousel, so I followed them. Apparently, I was a little bit too far behind them for Demi, because she beckoned for me to join them. I jogged up next to Demi and she grabbed my hand. Maybe this trip would be fun.

Nick's POV

It took us about half an hour to get from the airport to our beach house. The twins were still exhausted after their 10-hour nap on the plane, so they went up and claimed their bedrooms for the week we would be there. Mac started up to her room, but Demi stopped her. She told her that we were about to eat dinner, and Mac sighed. They both sat down at the table. I checked the pantry and fridge and found stuff to make grilled cheese sandwiches, Demi's favorite. I took the stuff out and made five, two each for Demi and I and one for Mac, who didn't eat much. I finished the sandwiches about ten minutes later and set them on the table. Demi grabbed two, Mac grabbed one, and I grabbed the remaining two. I finished mine in what had to be record time. Demi finished hers a few minutes after me. Mac was still nibbling at the crust. Demi looked at me with an expression that clearly said to leave them alone, so I went upstairs to the master bedroom, which Demi and I would be sharing. I fell asleep quickly and dreamed of Demi.

Demi's POV

"Mac, eat."

"Not hungry."

"All you had on the plane was water. You have to eat."

"Not hungry."

"Mac please. I need you to eat so you can get better. I don't want you to have to go to a treatment center."

"Fine. I'll eat. But only because you want me to."

"Thank you."

We had been going on like that for a half an hour before Mac finally agreed to eat. I sat at the table with her until she had finished because I knew she wouldn't if I left. When she finished her sandwich, she went up and claimed the empty bedroom. I was exhausted, so I decided to go up to the master bedroom, which Nick and I would be sharing.

The room was gorgeous. We had an ocean view, a balcony, and a king sized bed. I flopped down on my back next to Nick on the bed and sighed.

"You okay, love?" he asked.

"Yeah, just tired."

This time, I wasn't lying.

I promise.
