Demi's POV
It was a few days after Mac's... situation, and I was laying in bed. Nick had gone home for the night, and Gabe, Gracie, and Mac were all asleep in bed, even though it was only 7 in the evening. We'd had an exhausting day. Mac and I had gone clothes shopping and bought $300 worth of clothes and $200 worth of bedroom decor, so that took us about 5 hours, and Mac fell asleep after I had her eat a sandwich. Baby steps. I made sure she didn't go to the bathroom afterwards, and she fell asleep as soon as her head hit the pillow. Gabe and Gracie had spent the entire day at the park downtown with Nick, so that wore them out, and they fell asleep in the car on the way home. They've been asleep ever since. Nick went home early since I was tired and wanted some time alone.
Anyways, I was laying in bed just thinking about life when I heard an all-too-familiar voice.
"Demi"
Shut up, I thought. This wasn't going to happen again. No.
"Demi, we're your friends, remember? We want the best for you."
"Yeah, I remember, I thought, You sent me down a path that lead to 3 torturous months in treatment. That was the best path for me. Right." I was not going to let that happen again. Not now. Not ever.
Demi, you're under a lot of stress. Just once. It'll make everything better.
"No. I'm not going to. I can't. And I won't."
After a minute of arguing... with myself, or rather, my demons, I felt my chest tighten. My heart rate got faster. I started having difficulty breathing. I knew this feeling. I hadn't felt it in a long time. I felt tears running down my face.
I was having a panic attack.
I had been fighting my demons, but now they were winning. I knew I couldn't get rid of this myself. I needed help. I couldn't speak; I could barely breathe, so I picked up my phone and texted...
