Doomwas already waiting in his car when Kyle walked out of the school. Heslid into the passenger seat exhausted and Doom waited for him toclose the door.

"Lastday huh?" he asked with a grin on his face.

"Ican't believe how fast time went by."

"Meneither, dude. It's crazy, we're really gonna do it tomorrow."

"Well, what are we going to do now, for our last day?" Kyle asked.

"Let'sgo get something to eat, I'm starved."

"Soundsgood. Where to?"

Doomstarted the car. "Where do you think?" He backed out of theparking spot.

"BurgerKing?"

"Ofcourse, Burger King. That's our place."

Theywere quiet as they drove down the familiar street to the restaurantthat they had frequented throughout their time in high school. Thesame, familiar trees and houses that lined the street seemed to lookdifferent when they thought that it would be the last time they wouldsee them. The restaurant itself looked like an alien establishment. It looked as if they were looking at it for the first time. Doom felthis soul in his fingertips, touching the steering wheel. Kyle felthis body tingle as if it were numb. His fingers struggled to find hiswallet in his pocket, his fingers fumbling around with difficulty.

Doomdrove into the parking lot and groaned when he saw Sean Fisher andhis friends inside, sitting at a table. "See them?" he asked.

"Yeah...fuckers."

"Let'snot go in, we'd just get into some kind of trouble with them," Doomsaid.

"Don'tworry, we'll see them tomorrow."

"Wesure will," laughed Doom. He drove to the Drive-Thru window toplace their orders: two cheeseburgers with only ketchup and twostrawberry shakes.

Whenthey got their food Doom pulled into a parking spot and opened thebag eagerly, Kyle already sipping on his bright pink shake.

"SoI'll pick you up tomorrow around seven," Doom said nonchalantly.

"Doom,"Kyle said sternly, "are you really going to go through with this?"

Doomraised an eyebrow. "Do you really think I'm going to back out now?"

"Wehaven't done anything to prove we are really going to do it, we onlymade promises. I'm just...I'm just afraid. Can you blame me?"

Doomstared at Kyle for a second and then rolled down the car window. Hepulled his wallet from his pocket and checked for his cash and IDcards. "School ID, Driver's License, and almost sixty bucks," heannounced to Kyle. He then leaned out his window and threw his walletinto the busy street in front of them. "Fuck it. It doesn't matteranymore."

Kylesmiled at his dedication and then pulled his wallet out. He openedthe window and threw his wallet in the same direction.

"WellKyle, this is it," Doom said flatly.

"Thisis it."

"Tomorrowis our day."

"Itsure is, man," Kyle said.

"Whatdo you think they'll think when they find our wallets?" laughedDoom.

"Who'sthey? Some homeless people are going to take the money out and chuckthe rest in a garbage bin somewhere."

Doomtore into his burger. "I would be so anxious about doing that if weweren't dying tomorrow," he said with a full mouth.

"Isthis our last supper?" Kyle asked. "Just like in the bible?"
