I tried to get into the subway car as SLOWLY AS POSSIBLE. But then there is Mason saying," Don't be such a Huckleberry! Move!" He rams me into the subway, where I then fall over, slam into the pole, then fall on the floor. I have my mom's clumsiness when it is caused by Mason. So on that note, I slip into unconsciousness.
When I woke up, I was lying against the subway wall, and there was this girl staring into my face.
Are you okay?
Uh, where are my friends?
Mason: Over here dude.
Girl: Why are you guys over there?
Michiko: So he could meet you.
I find it random that my friends and my cousin just left me here in the arms of a stranger. They care, but do they know this girl or something?
Girl: What's your name, stranger?
Ryder. What's yours, mysterious girl who randomly helped me?
It's Alexa, weirdo.
Hello, Alexa weirdo.
Mason: See how nice that worked out?
Michiko: I understand the predicament, but do not understand the reason. Cast me a hypothesis.
Mason: How are we friends?
Michiko: Our parents have connected us for eternity.
Mason: WHAT?!
Michiko: I am just joking. But what about those two?
I moved from sitting on the floor to actually sitting on a subway seat. Alexa gave me granola bar and a water bottle. We started talking about me falling and hitting my head, and stuff like that as to why they ditched me but then we got more into getting to now each other.
So what school do you go to?
I'm a new transfer student. I came from California.
A transfer student? Huh.
Huh what?
Oh nothing. Just something my dad said. When they were young, their group if friends consisted of a nerd, a rebel, the good, the athlete, and the clown. They want me to have that.
Huh. So which one are you?
According to my father, I'm the athlete. But to my mom, I'm her, the good one.
Well, which one do you want to be?
. . . . .
I never really asked myself that before. Who did I want to be. Do I want to be my parents? Which one am I. I know I am good inside compared to others, but I'm scholar athlete almost three years in a row. Slightly confused as to why she has me questioning my whole life story, so I just changed the subject. What school you going to?
John Quincy Adams High.
Wait, really?
Why?
That's my school!
Awesome! Could you show me around?
Uh, all freshmen are new, so we can help each other out.
Sweet.
We kinda just sat there after that, well for maybe two minutes. Considering we had to get off at that stop, then walk to school. I walked with her, then Michiko and Mason were taking a really long time. The school has a system. We get out schedules in the gym, along with our locker numbers on the schedules. As always, Michiko, Mason, and I have all the same classes, but then Alexa is in our classes as well. There is always something to brighten up your day, isn't there.
