I looked out the tiny window in the black metal frame at the clouds below us. We were on some thing called a quinjet, supposedly. The sky was bluer up here and the sun cast a golden glow in the horizon.

"It's pretty isn't it?," I heard a voice say behind me.

I turned around. Bobbi, if that was her real name, was watching me with her arms crossed. I nodded in reply, looking back at the clouds. "It's been a while since I've been on a plane. I forgot how beautiful it was."

She turned around and sat down on the far row of seats across from me. "Well," she said. "That's one plus."

I backed away from the window and sat down on a seat of my own, leaning back. "So, where are we going, exactly?"

"To the new SHIELD base."

"And where is this base?"

"That's -"

"Classified," I finished for her. "I put that together."

She scoffed. "Coulson's rule, not mine."

"You said something earlier about Coulson being Director? What's that about?," I asked.

She clasped her hands together. "A lot has happened since you were last with SHIELD. I assume you already know about the whole Hydra takeover."

I nodded. "Bits and pieces."

"Well, the lines ran deep. Agent turned on agent and it was a bloodbath. Now, Coulson is the head of SHIELD, or the New SHIELD. We're not half of what we used to be. Almost everything has changed. At lot of new battles have been fought, new members added to the team. Now we're trying to take down the last remaining leaders of Hydra," she continued.

"Another question," I said. "Why did you call Skye by a different name? What was it again? Diana -"

"Daisy," she corrected me. I nodded and she shook her head. "That's a long story that I'll let her explain.

I sighed and relaxed, looking around the plane. I saw the pilot adjust his headset and flip some switches on the panel from where I was sitting. I shook my head. I can't believe I'm back here.

"I'm guessing you can't tell me why I'm needed? Why now? How I could possibly be of use fighting these Hydra, or whoever these people are?," I said, waving my hands in the air.

"I don't know a lot of details yet," she replied. "But we're rounding up anyone we think will be able to help. Powered people, in specific."

I thought back to my dream.

You will help your brother and sisters.

He called for you.

Go!

I shook my head. It was just a silly nightmare.

"Why powered people?," I asked.

Bobbi shrugged. "Daisy thinks assembling a task force like this is the only way to get to these guys' weakness."

"So you're obviously new to the team. How's everyone else? Skye....I mean Daisy, Fitz, Simmons, Ward...are they still there?," I asked.

Bobbi visibly flinched when I said that last name. I studied her closer. Her mouth opened slightly, I could see her chest tighten and feel her heartbeat quicken. She stared off into a far away place for a split second. She's remembering something. And I don't think it's pretty. But soon enough, it all disappeared with an inhale and exhale. She looked at me staring at her intently.

"For the most part, yes, they're fine. But that's another question I'll let Daisy answer," she replied, glancing up the the cockpit and standing up. "Besides, we're landing."

I stood up beside her, looking out the windshield to see a landing pad split to reveal a huge landing dock below us.

Bobbi and I stood in a metal elevator as I felt us descend. I adjusted my black backpack on my shoulders, flipping my hair out of the way.

There was a short ding as the doors opened and we were greeted by a long, concrete hallway. Standing in the middle was none other than Agent Coulson, his hands clasped together in front of him just like the time we had first met.

We stepped out of the elevator to meet him. "Hello, Lucy," he said.

I'm going to have to get used to hearing that again. "I have to pay my neighbor to feed my dog, that's on you," I said, pointing my finger at him.

He shrugged and slightly smiled. "Good to see you too," he said.

I stepped to him and gave him a short hug.

"You got taller," he said, looking me up and down.

"You didn't," I said.

He turned to Bobbi. "Thank you, Agent Morse."

She nodded and threw a glance back at me before continuing by herself down the hallway.

"We have a lot to catch up on," he said.

I nodded and looked around. "Looks like SHIELD has been through quite a few changes since I last vacationed."

"Really, almost everything is different. Our agendas have changed, our team has changed. We've also learned a lot more about Inhumans. You might finally get those answers you were asking for," he said.

"That was a long time ago, Coulson," I said.

He nodded. "I know."

"And that's not the only thing. You can't just call me up whenever you need help or something. You could have at least came yourself. Or called. Email exists too, you know," I replied.

"I'm sorry," he said. "I knew it was a long shot, but I had to see if you'd come. And as for coming myself, it's been pretty hectic here. I have to be here to run things."

"So I was told," I replied. "You're Director now, right?"

He shrugged. "There's really nothing to direct, I'm just overseeing things."

"Always so modest," I said, scoffing.

"Again, I wish it didn't have to come to this, but circumstances have made us desperate. But now that you're here, you might as well meet the people you're working with," he said as he began walking down the hall.

I followed. "Goodie," I commented sarcastically. First day of school all over again.

Coulson turned to the right, opening a door to a briefing room with a long table. Standing around the table taking were two men and a woman I didn't recognize. One of the men was talking to a woman with her back turned. He nodded towards the door as he noticed us and the woman turned. It was Skye, with a quite noticeable haircut.

Coulson waved his hand towards the group of people. "Lucy, meet the Secret Warriors."

hey everyone, just wanted to put down a few things here before I moved on with the story. first off, I know a lot of crazy things are going on with the current Agents of Shield season finale with the fallen agent and stuff. so if there are any major changes in the show (ex: someone dies and they happen to be in my book) im not going to use that storyline I'm just going to continue with this book and pretend it doesn't exist. 😂 also, I know hunter and Bobbi don't coincide with the secret warrior timeline either but I'm going to keep them in my story because I love them too much lol.

another thing; I apologize for the infrequent updates. school and work have been getting the best of me and it's just hard sometimes to find time to update. but just know that I am trying my very best (:

thank you all so much for the success on my first book and all the dedicated readers keeping up with this one. your positive comment always make me smile and I hope this book doesn't disappoint (:
