I looked back at Coulson. "The secret what?"
"Lucy!," I heard Skye say. I turned to her and she was already to me, pulling me into a hug. "Long time no see," she said.
"Yeah," I replied. "Nice haircut."
She nodded and smiled, looking me up and down. "You grew."
I smiled a little. "So it seems."
She stepped back and glanced to her companions. "Here, let's get you introduced. That's Lincoln," she said, pointing to the tall man with with short hair that she was talking to. "And that's Elena and Joey." She gestured to a Hispanic looking woman in the corner and the buff man standing next to her. They nodded to me.
"I'll leave you all alone to brief," Coulson said. "Looks like you could use the privacy." With that he exited, closing the door behind him.
Skye smiled at me again. "It's been a while."
I nodded and shrugged. "Well, when you need me, you need me right?."
"In more ways than one. Really, a lot has changed since...well...whatever you wanna call that thing 2 years ago," she said.
"So I've heard," I replied. "But we can get to that later, right?" I set my bag down at my feet. "We have things to brief."
Skye seemed slightly taken aback as she walked back towards the table. "I have to say, I'm surprised by your willing enthusiasm about this."
I shrugged, taking a seat at the end of the table. "Oh, I'm not happy about anything. But the quicker we get this done the sooner I leave, so no need to waste time."
The man she had pointed out to be Lincoln earlier smiled at Skye and cocked him head.
"I like her," he remarked as he sat in the seat to the left of me.Skye smirked. "Give it a day. You haven't seen her in action yet."
Lincoln's expression was one of confusion as he turned to me. I stared at him intently for a moment before shrugging at him. He looked slightly unnerved by my gaze. He should be. I was reading him. It got this vibe from him, it was different. Not odd different, or scary different, just something I felt inexperienced with. Something I had only felt present buried in such amounts in very few people, especially not a man of his age and maturity. He glanced to Skye and then back to me, realizing that I was still staring. I looked deeper into his hazel eyes and -
"Well, I guess I'll start then," I heard Skye say.
I shifted my focus away from Lincoln. That can be for a later time.
Skye nodded to the rest of the people.
"I don't really know an easy way to put this," she said, pausing. "But there's a similarity between all the people in this room."I cocked my head. "We all have brown hair?"
She gave the slightest bit of a smile and shook her head. "No, not that." She glanced down at her hands, outstretching them and moving her fingers oddly.
What is she...
"We're all Inhumans, Lucy. We all have powers...extraordinary ones at that. And I've assembled us here today because together we might be able to accomplish something. Not as individuals, but as the Secret Warriors."
I threw my hands up. "Wait wait wait." All the heads in the room turned to look at me. "What?!"
"I have powers now," she said calmly. "And so do Lincoln, Joey, and Elena."
