"Yay! School is finally over! No more learning! No more teachers! And no more rules!" Alex exclaimed.

"But Alex, don't you want to go to college?" Connor asked.

"No! Not only no, but fuck no!" Alex chuckled. We were all on our way to my house to get ready for a party to celebrate graduation.

Once we arrived at my house Dakota asked me. "So how long do we got until the party starts?"

"They will start coming in about half an hour." I answer.

"I'll start getting out the beer now." Alex stated while doing so.

"I'll get out the balloons!" Conner said with childish joy.

"This is why you weren't invited to the last party." I said jokingly. Dakota laughed at my comment while Conner rolled his eyes.

"I am going to get the music set up" Dakota said while walking off.

Conner and I started decorating for the party. But that shortly lasted when suddenly explosions happened. Conner and I jumped to action and ran outside to only see that they were fireworks. We both sighed in relief and got back to work.

"I am back fuckers!" Alex yelled at us. And then so suddenly as he returned gunfire broke out. *CRACK* A bullet flies right through my best friends left leg. I would have heard him scream in pain but he was drowned out by the gunfire. He drops to the floor in pain breaking all the beer bottles. I ran out to save my friend and bring him inside. I look around quickly to realize their are no more fireworks but cannon fire. Conner at my side helped me bring him in.

We set him on the couch in the living room. Conner and Dakota were patching  up his leg while I go get my rifle I kept in my room. Once I grabbed my gun I ran back to my friends. All four of us had to get to a safer area. We had to get to the town shelter. But that will be difficult because of the bombing and gunfire.

As we make our way cautiously down the streets Conner helped Alex walk. It broke our hearts to see people we knew laid dead on the streets.  As we cross one street we were spotted by Imperium soldiers before we could see them. The soldiers then surprise attacked us but I held them off for a while for us to retreat into a bombed house.

We were stuck in the house, soldiers on every side were looking for us. And I had no idea what to do. We all thought what to do. Conner looked at me and said "Give me the rifle." So I gave him the gun and once I did he put Alex on my arm. He told us "Make a run for the shelter. I'll hold them off." Dakota and I argued with him for while but the soldiers were coming fast. Alex couldn't argue through the pain. He needed better medical treatment. We finally leave when Conner yells at us with tears running down his face. "Just fucking go!"

Dakota, Alex, and I took the back door as Conner drew the attention of the soldiers. Everyone of us felt ashamed to leave Conner. Dakota cried was sobbing the w But at least we made it to the town shelter. Where the town militia guards it. Dakota took Alex to see real doctors while I joined the militia. I had to spend my whole night fighting Imperium scum off the streets and out of town. The Imperium had automatic guns which made it harder for us to push them out. It was a long fight but the home town fighters proved better. I am not saying we didn't have loses though. Because we did. After the fight, I went back to the place where Conner defended, only to see his bullet hole punched corpse on the ground. I knew he was happy to know his friends lived but I was upset to know they killed him. Tears rolling down my face I cry and mourned my friend. I look around to see others weeping for their lost ones.

The next day everybody was paying their respects. And after that women, children, and elderly packed up and left as everyone else were the first ones to sign up in the U.F. Army. I was one of them. I was going to bring the fight to them. I promised in my friends blood I will make those fucking assholes pay for what they done.

When I signed up for the Army, they supplied everyone and myself with weapons, but no uniforms. Only a couple regiments didn't receive uniforms though. The Federation couldn't afford uniforms. We mostly had Gatrian bolt action rifles but I was supplied with the brand new EGN assault rifle. I was in the 8th regiment, squad 3. My squad and I were to defend Fort Fealom. The base was nice and hidden the forest of Lantorn. It was our job to ready for an attack from the front. We have set traps for the impending attack. Such as anti personnel mines, pit falls, bear traps, and trip flares.

We didn't have to worry about animals setting off traps because of the smoke from the war machines is killing the forest. It was a beautiful forest once, but it is now struggling to survive.

I am glad I know some people in my squad before the war. Some were my friends and school mates but now were battle brothers. Sid Martins once the quiet guy in the back of the class is now the quiet sniper. Kyler Cooper school jock is now the heavy machine gun specialist. Dominick Arnold a shop owner my friends and I know is now a medic.

The others in my squad are people I don't know that well. There's Private Roberson, Private Kelly, and Sergeant Stewart. Sgt. was the only one who had a uniform. It made him look serious. But he didn't need the uniform to make the squad do stuff. He was a Drogesh hunter. The Drogesh were once huge wild beasts that looked kinda like boars. They hunted humans but that changed when people started hunting them. The Drogesh are now almost extinct. I've only seen Drogesh beastes in books but I don't think I am going to see a live one. And I never want to. Being a Drogesh hunter ment he got in close range with them so he has an epic bastard sword for melee.
