Chapter 7: She's So Gone

Two month time skip

Still Ed's P.O.V

(Y/n) and my mom had been gone for two months, I honestly didn't know if I was ever going to see (y/n) ever again. She promised we would meet again, then I would finally be able to tell her how I feel. I only hope she didn't lie to me. Al and I comitted the taboo two nights after (y/n) left and mom died and (y/n) was right, we failed, now I have no arm and leg and Al has no body, I attached his soul to a suit of armor that I'm guessing was dad's. The days have been cold and lonely without (y/n) here with us, with me. She was the light of my life so now all I see is darkness. There is no happiness without her here beside me, no matter how hard Al, Winry, and Pinako try, I just can't smile knowing she could be in danger.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

The sound of skin on skin rings through the room, then after around 30 seconds the sound would return just once, then again, then again, almost like it was never ending. My dad was slapping me in the face as I was tied to one of the kitchen table's legs that was too heavy for me to lift and escape. This isn't the first time this has happened, it actually happens quite frequently. Since he took me away from Ed I've been basically numb. We moved into this vacant house, more like a shack. He continued to beat me daily ever since. I needed Edward, I needed him to tell me what he was going to before I was taken, to comfort me, to let me tell him how I feel. I was so stupid, why did I promise him that we would meet again? I don't know if I can keep that promise. This is my punishment I guess. Now I will probably never see Ed again

*three year time skip* (I know it's a long time but just bear with me)

Still your P.O.V

It's been about six months since Roy and Maes saved me from my dad and I became the youngest state alchemist ever.

*flashback *

My father was beating me once again. I was bloody beyond belief and my non-automail arm was broken and I'm pretty sure my jaw was too. I was coughing up more blood and was basically drowning in it by now. He punched me in the cheek again and the blood I was about to cough up got stuck in my throat. I was struggling to breathe now. I then heard a knock on the door but my dad apparently didn't. I then heard someone come into the house and step closer but my dad was still too wrapped up in beating me to hear. I then saw two men in military uniforms and struggled to get their attention by groaning loudly and pleadingly. Wide eyed from suprise that I was finally going to get out of here. One rushed to my side while the other shot my dad. I looked up at them and smiled to the best of my ability with the amount of pain currently in my face and whispered barely audible due to the blood still stuck in my throat "Thank you... " and then the whole world fell into darkness.

*flashback ended*

Maes was like a father to me, and Roy was like a brother. I was a couple ranks above both of them. My title was The Midnight Alchemist, since I could form the shadows to hide me and travel in them (like Nico from Percy Jackson). It was a one of a kind power that I didn't know how I could do it, but over time I've trained and found out how to control it fairly well. I still think about Ed everyday. I keep his necklace that he gave me for my birthday on at all times and Roy and Maes question it, but I tell them it's just special to me. I'm 13 now and moved up the ranks really fast because of my special ability. I also kept a picture of Ed in my dorm (?) but keep it hidden and look at it whenever I need help or am feeling down. I doubt he ever rembers who I am, it's been so long. Around 5 or so years. I was now heading to Roy's office since he called me in to meet him. When I got there I knocked on the door and he asked, "who's there". Since he was basically family I found myself loving to tease him and he, me. "Who do you think flame brain". I heard him sigh and told me to come in. I walked inside his dull and boring office, "Ya know cornel bastard, you could use some redecorating, my good sir. It shows that you're boring, which you are but you don't need to be so obvious about it." He pinched the bridge of his nose with his index finger and his thumb. "I didn't call you in here to judge my decor, Midnight", I just casually shrugged,"then what'd ya call me in here for grandpa" he rolled his eyes at my nickname and lazily genstured his hand toward the two figures on the couch. A suit of armor and a blonde boy around my age, both staring at me, all I did was give them a quick glace then focused back on Roy. "These two will be training to become state alchemists, I would like you to help and escort them" he said nonchalantly. I crossed my arms and tapped my foot impatiently, "Since when do I report to you old man." I asked teasingly. Roy put up a hand in defense,"Hey, these orders are straight from the Furher himself, for your information." I glared at him and looked back at the two on the couch, man, the blonde looks oddly familiar. They both stood abruptly, saluting me. I huffed in amusment as a small smile danced across my lips, "Cut the formalities, I'm the Midnight Alchemist, also knownas (y/n) (l/n)." I introduced as I absent-mindedly flicked my hand back and forth thinking of where I've met the blonde before. The blonde looked at me with wide eyes in shock and the armor leaned toward me indicating he was suprised as well.

(A/n- Sorry this chapter was late. School and family problems. But schoolwill be over for the year soon so I will be updating a lot in that time so be prepared.
