Chapter 9: Feelings?

(Y/n)' s P.O.V

After I got changed into ripped black skinny jeans and a (f/c) v-neck tshirt I went into the cafeteria area to get a bottle of water and an apple. As I turn around I come into contact with Maes' chest, I look up and he has that stupid grin on his face that he always has before he gushes over his wife or daughter, or even over me every once in a while, since he sees me as a daughter, which gets a little creepy sometimes.

He bent down to my level and pulled out a picture of his wife, he opened his mouth to start ranting but before he made anysound, I shoved my apple in his mouth and grabbed another from the tray behind me. "Cool story Maes."
I said before I walked off whistling, I spotted Ed looking lost, I walked up behind Ed before he caught sight of me, put the water bottle in the back pocket of my black jeans and jumped onto his back.

My legs wrapped around his waist from behind, I was strong enough to hold myself on his back, but knowing it was me he didnt fight it and supported me with his hands on the lower part of my thighs; by my knees. The apple was still in my hand so it was held out in front of him, "wanna bite?" I asked, he nodded, leaned foward, and took a bite of the apple, I then took a bite of the crunchy apple myself and Roy, who I didn't realize was there, smiled at us, "whatch'a lookin' for Eddie?" I asked, hoping I could help.

"I was just looking for the library" he said, he looked like he was blushing, but I doubt it. "Oooohhhh, I know the way, mush, doggy, mush" I commanded pointing towards the door with my free hand. "I'm not a dog ya know" he pouted, "no, not yet, but you will be when you join the military" I stated matter-of-factly and smiled.

Ed walked through the door, "shush and tell me where to go" he joked, Roy walking beside us, "but if I shush then I can't tell you anything" I teased, Ed rolled his eyes jokingly. "Hey Ed?" I asked just now putting it together in my mind, he hummed acknowledging that I had spoken and hinting for me to continue, "Why didn't you just ask Roy?" Ed looked over at Roy then over his shoulder at me, "I don't trust him" he stated as if it was obvious. "Smart choice my friend, smart choice" I reassured and giggled.

Ed's P.O.V

She's so cute, her giggles are the cutest sounds I have ever heard, I couldn't help but smile. She's also so, so close, her chest and stomach were pressed to my back, her legs were wrapped tightly around my hips and her arms around my neck when she wasn't eating her apple.Her automail arm was draped over my shoulder as she pointed out directions to the library.

We were walking through the streets of Central and many people were looking at us and smiling, I could hear some of their comments: "they are so cute together", "Do you think that's the Midnight Alchemist's boyfriend", or "Glad she finally found herself someone", or "I haven't seen her smile like that since she got here". There were also the occasional 'awws' or squeals of excitement. It made me smile, just the thought of being (Y/n)'s boyfriend.

(Y/n) threw her apple core into the garbage bin as we walked passed it, she draped her flesh arm over my shoulder and rested her chin on my shoulder between her arm and my neck. She whispered in my ear so that only I could hear, "Do you hear what they're saying too?" I turned my head to see her smiling, looking at me through the corner of her eye.

I nodded and looked back ahead of me, "I think it would be nice if that was true" she mumbled not wanting me to hear but I made the words out in my mind anyway, barely though. I sighed happily and smiled bigger, 'Does she have the same feelings for me that I have for her?' I thought happily to myself.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V

We finally made it to the Central library and before we walked up the steps I leaned into Ed's ear, "You can put me down if ya wanna" I said. Ed just shook his head in disagreement, "It's fine, I like carrying you around" he whispered as he turned his head towards me and smiled.

I nuzzled my face into the crook of Ed's neck and saw the red blush creeping up to his face. I smiled to myself and let out a soft, content sigh against Edward's skin. "Why did you need to come here?" I asked, curious and putting my head up off Ed's shoulder for a moment, "and why the heck did he have to come?" I asked jabbing my thumb in Mustangs direction. Ed laughed as Roy mocked offence and sighed, "I wish I hadn't, I don't like to see people flirting with you, expecially this one" he pointed in Ed's direction.

I made a weird noise of suprise and blushed, trying to cover it up by snuggling my face back into the crook of Edward's neck, and Ed jumped a little in shock at the accusation, "We weren't flirting you idiot!" Ed defended but was still sporting a deep red blush of his own across his face. I nuzzled my face deeper into the crook of Edward's neck and wrapped my legs tighter around his waist.

We walked into the library and Ed walked over to a book on bio-alchemy, once he started reading it, it was like he was in a trance: absorbing all the information and focusing hard on the text. He was so cute when he did that, I didn't bother reading the book over his shoulder, I just stared at how beautiful he looked when he concentrated.

I saw Roy in my peripheral vision looking at us and smiling, no matter what he said I knew he thought we were cute with each other. He was right, Ed did most of the work though, it was so easy for him to be adorable, or beautiful, or hot all the time, it was involuntary for him. He didnt even realize how attractive he was, and it was sad for me(a/n: Edward doesn't know he's beautiful. Oh oh, that's what makes him beautiful).

I wasn't going to do anything so I ended up falling into some much needed sleep. I didn't dream about anything, I never do, everything's always just black when I fall asleep. (A/n: that's how I am, anyone else?)

Ed's P.O.V

I closed the book and looked to my side to see (y/n) asleep on my shoulder, she looked so peaceful and her breath slightly hitched everytime she inhaled, creating small little kitten-like snores. I put the book back on the shelf, "find what you needed?" Roy asked, I nodded, "for the most part, yes, I would look more but I think (y/n) is tired" I explained looking over once more at her beautiful sleeping form.

We walked back into the streets, we were only in the library for about an hour at most, there were still a lot of people in the streets, but not quite as many as there were on the way here. I looked over my shoulder again at (y/n) and kissed her forehead lightly, her lips curled up at the ends slightly and I couldn't help but smile too. I looked back ahead of me and we were almost at Headquarters, we walked inside and down the halls. I walked down the hall (y/n)'s dorm was on and reached into her back pocket and with a little difficulty got her key out of her pocket. I laid her down on her bed and kissed her forehead, I tucked her under the blanket and left her key and water bottle on her bedside table. I then walked back to my hotel room.

*time skip to the hotel*

I walked into Al and I's room and saw him sitting at the table reading a newspaper. "Hey Al" I greeted, letting him know I was here, "hi brother" he returned and looked at me. "I'm going to take a shower, okay?" I asked and Al nodded. I walked into my bedroom, since Al can't sleep, and undressed, grabbed some more clothes to sleep in, and hopped into the shower. I started thinking about (y/n) and the things the people in the streets of Central said and how she wanted it to be true.

After my shower it was getting late so I went out of the room, told Al goodnight, which he returned, and went back into the bedroom and got in the bed. I fell asleep shortly after, dreaming about (y/n) and how I was going to ask her out.

I kinda wanna make Al gay because I just feel like he's too uncomfortable with girls to be straight and I want him to date your mechanic, which *spoiler* I will introduce next chapter. If y'all don't feel comfortable with that then I will change somethings around.
