Unexpected Love

"So what day are they coming again?"

"The 12th so that gives us some time to get everything together and fixed up. You don't know how excited I am for them to finally be here Chris," Robyn said to me happily.

"Well I'm glad that you're happy baby. I finally get to meet some of your family so I think I'm more excited than you."

Robyn's mom and brother were gonna be here in less than a week and she just couldn't stop talking about it. I told Robyn to give me all of their information and I basically took care of it all from there. Her father would be joining us the week after just to make sure everything was taken care of at home. Her wish for her and her family to have a better life was finally coming true and I was glad I could be apart of it. I wanted nothing more but to make sure my baby was happy and smiling just like she is now.

"I think my mom and yours are gonna get along quite well when they meet."

"M-Meet? You want them to meet?," she asked.

"Duh Robyn, why not?"

She chuckled nervously, "Oh I don't know I just..," she looked down and shrugged her shoulders.

I lifted her head up and looked into her eyes, "Robyn what I told you about that? If you got any doubt in your mind about me not being serious with our relationship you need to get that shit out now. I love you and I wanna be with you so that means your family is mine and vice versa. Okay?"

It's been about a month since me and Robyn professed our love for each other and I let her into my world. Things have been going great between us but for some odd reason, she still seems to have doubts on how I really feel about her and I have no idea why. I try to prove to her everyday that I care about her and I really want us to be together so I hope that she understands and knows that I'm not playing. I mean every single word I say.

She quickly nodded her head then pulled my face down to her level and kissed me. I got a good grip on her waist as her hands snaked around me neck.

"I'm sorry Chris, I don't mean to think that way. It's just that I haven't been in a serious relationship before, not to mention that I'm kinda all by myself so I try to protect myself from anything or anybody before they hurt me."

"I understand baby but look, after everything I'm still here. I told you I got you, don't you ever forget that aight?"

She chuckled as I attacked her neck with kisses, "Aight Chris. I love you babe."

"I love you more. Now, can you get dressed so we can go eat? Your man is hungry."

A long ass hour later, we were finally out the door on our way to my moms restaurant. I swear if I had to wait for Robyn any longer, I'd probably be dead. The drive there was quiet, nothing awkward but it looked like Robyn was in deep thought and she had a lot on her mind. I could only imagine the things she could possibly thinking of in that big ass head of hers which got me to start thinking too, mainly about us. Ever since Robyn came back I've just been so happy. Shit happier than I've ever been. Who knew that in the short amount of time we'd known each other she could impact my life in such a big way? Those few months without her I just didn't feel like myself. She was like this big burst of energy that I definitely needed. Sometimes I wondered if I fell too fast based on how I was feeling about the last girl that I loved and I just needed someone to love me back but I realized that God makes no mistakes. Her coming back to me was His way of telling me that she was the one and I promised that if I got her back that I would do right and get my shit together.
