Unexpected Love

The Best Thing That Ever Happened/Lesson Learned..

I screamed to the top of my lungs as the doctors and nurses pushed me through the emergency room. The pain was unbearable. I couldn't believe I was in labor right now. I was way too early.

When the contractions first started, it was a struggle getting to my phone so I could call 911. I wanted to call my mom but they told me to stay on the phone until the paramedics came to get me. After getting me in the ambulance, I begged the EMT to call my mom for me and let her know what was going on. She prayed out to Jah and said she was on her way.

"Please..p-please help me. I'm too early. I can't have the baby right now."

"It's gonna be okay Robyn. Just breathe ok honey?"

The doctor was talking to me but I couldn't hear a thing. I could feel the baby's head at the entrance of my vagina and it was the worst pain I've ever felt.

"I can feel it coming! OH MY GOD HELP ME!"

I began to cry like a helpless child. I needed my mom. I needed Chris. He doesn't even know what's going on right now. I noticed that we were in the delivery room and I could see the doctor placing on gloves, a gown and a surgical mask.

"Okay Robyn, you say you can feel the baby right? Well let's see how far out this baby is ok?"

All I could do was nod my head. My mouth was super dry from all the yelling and crying.

"I-I-Ice..p-please," I struggled to say to the nurse.

"Of course sweetie. I'll be right back ok?"

As soon as she left out, my mom came in with the protective mask and gown on and rushed to my side.

"Oh! My baby! Is she okay? How's my grandchild?"

"I'm checking right now ma'am. Please if you don't mind, can you leave the roo-"

"Oh hell no I will not be leaving my child in her time of need!"

"P-please Doctor..I need her," I held onto my mothers hand tight and the doctor looked at us with sympathy in his eyes.

"Alright ma'am. Whatever makes you feel comfortable. Let's check on your baby now."

As the pain rocked through my body, I just held onto my mom while she prayed in my ear. I really wanted Chris to be here for this moment. I'm pretty sure they would've rolled his ass in here or something. He definitely would've made a way to be here. To think that the father of my child was literally a few floors up from me and he couldn't be here to witness this was breaking my heart.

"Alright Robyn, now on a count of 3 I want you push as hard as you can. Ready? 1...2...3."

I grabbed my moms hand as tight as I could and pushed as hard as I could.

"I...I can't. I need Chris mommy. He..He has to be here," my mom just held my hand tighter and kissed my forehead.

"Come on Robby, your baby is ready to be born now. Just push for mommy please."

I just shook my head, "I'll try.. I need him mommy."

She began to run her fingers through my hair, "He's here baby, don't worry. Let's get the baby out okay," I nodded again.
