Grace's P.O.V

Finnick smiled at me, he seemed relieved to see me smiling. The phone on his desk rang and he glanced at it, groaning, and answering. "What is it?" He sounded agitated. He paused, listening, then growled slightly "Fine." He slammed the phone onto the receiver then sighed, looking at me. "I'm sorry Grace, there's some things I need to take care of. I'll call Austin and ask him to spend the day with you if that's alright."

I chewed my lip slightly and shrugged. Finnick smiled apologetically and picked the phone, dialing a number. There was a short pause before Finnick said "Austin. Cody and I have some work we need to do in town. Could you spend the day with Grace?" there was a pause, and I could hear indistinct yelling, followed by Finnick saying in a stern voice "I am the Alpha and you are my delta, you will do whatever I tell you. You will spend the day with Grace." He then hung up.

I fidgeted for a few minutes, glancing occasionally at Finnick would was scribbling on some paperwork. The door opened and the tall sandy haired man that I'd meant once before came in. He was dressed rather casually in dark jeans and faded t-shirt. Finnick stood up and went around his desk, gently taking my hand and pulling me to my feet, turning his gaze to Austin. "Keep her company until I get back. Anything she wants to do you do too. Understood?"

Austin grumbled a "yessir" and looked at me with his sharp gaze. Involuntarily; I flinched. Finnick looked down at me "I'll be back around dinner time. I'll bring something home with me." He shot a warning glare at Austin, grabbed his paperwork and left the two of us standing in his office.

Austin stared at me, studying my face before gazing over my body. I fidgeted and looked out the window. Austin grunted something that sounded like "Let's go" turned, and left the office. With a slight jump I followed him.

As we walked people stared and whispered, occasionally pointing at me. The back of my neck felt hot and my spine tingled, the way it usually did when someone was watching me. I put my hands in the pockets of the sweatshirt Finnick had given me when we left this morning and stared down at my feet, busying myself with trying to not step on the lines of the side walk without breaking my stride (it was trickier than it looked).

When we got back up to Finnick's large house the door was unlocked. Austin opened the door and let me in first. Due to the snow in the tread of my shoes I took them off in the entry way, putting them against the wall beside the entrance mat and shed the sweatshirt, hanging it in the closet. When I looked up at Austin he was studying me with a mildly surprised, mildly pleased expression. I cleared my throat "So... What do you want to do?" I asked.

He shrugged and looked away from me "Finnick told me to keep you company. So whatever you want to do is fine."

I pursed my lips, looking around as I tried to think "How about... We watch a tv?" I asked, pointing to the large flat screen. Austin again shrugged and walked to the living room, picking up the remote, and clicking the tv on.

I climbed onto the couch and curled up at one end. He glanced back at me "Anything specific you want to watch?" I shrugged slightly and he groaned, tossing the remote at me "Pick whatever the hell you want." he said, flopping down at the other end of the couch.

I picked the remote and glanced at him "Does Finnick have Netflix?" I asked cautiously.

He grunted "There's a button on the remote that says Netflix."

I looked down and found said button, pressed it, then stared at the screen, trying to decide what I wanted to watch. I liked my lips and searched for Supernatural. Even though I was on season ten I turned on the very first episode. Partially for Austin's benefit, partially cause I wanted to rewatch the earlier episodes. I pulled on of the couch pillows against my chest and curled around it, resting my chest against it.

Silence reined after out. No sounds other than screams of helpless victims and the shouts of the Winchester brothers. I would glance at Austin occasionally, he watched the screen, seeming rather bored. I hugged the pillow close to my chest "You don't have to be here if you don't want to."

"Yes I do." He said without hesitation. "I can't disobey my alpha."

I looked at him "Why not?"

He looked at me, looking bored, and irritated "He's Alpha, the leader. It'd be like disobeying the President, or the Queen. It's treason, and depending on what you do, can be severely punished."

I squeezed the pillow tighter "Like what...?"

He sighed and turned his attention back to the tv "That's not important right now. Just know that a wolf can not directly disobey his superiors without repercussions."

I nodded slightly and looked back at the Winchester brothers. I liked Sam better with his longer hair in later seasons, but not quite as long as it is in season ten.

"You actually like this crap?" Austin asked, gesturing to the tv.

"It's not crap!" I said very quickly. "and yes. I do like it. I like it a lot."

He rolled his eyes "Of course you do. You probably like it for the attractive guys that hunt ghosts, right? Ghosts aren't real you know. It's just a steaming load of bullshit."

I half hid my face in my pillow "I know ghosts aren't real. I like the story, the characters, and yes. I do find the actors attractive."

He snorted "Well you have a mate now. So give up on whatever sick fantasies you have."

A mixture of emotions filled my chest. Anger, frustration, and a strong urge to cry. I threw the pillow at him, hitting his face. "You're an ass." I spat, standing up and stomping upstairs, slamming the door to my room with all my might.

The wall rattled slightly and I could hear the echo through the hall. Feeling some satisfaction I went over to the patio door, twisting the handle. It was still locked like the day before, but now I realized that it was a simple twist lock and unlocked it, pushing both door open.

The railing was covered in snow, along with all the patio furniture. I took in a deep breath, walking to the bathroom.

The bathroom was honestly too big. The floor was white tile so clean I could see my reflection, the counter was made with grey white granite, and has too sinks. Beside it was a very fancy looking toilet. By the same wall as the door was a flaw foot bathtub, and beside it was a shower. There were plush Crimson rugs on the floor, and a mirror above the sinks.

I turned on the tub facet, tying my hair up in a messy bun, stripping, and sliding into the tub. The water was hot, and stung my skin, but still felt nice considering I'd left the bathroom, and patio doors open. Once the tub was full I turned off the water and soaked until my skin pruned.

It was dark by the time Finnick came back. He brought food with him like he had said and set it on the counter. Austin left as soon as he could. After I'd taken my bath and had gotten hungry enough to leave my room we didn't talk much. I had already gotten over the insult of my show, but he didn't apologize, so I didn't apologize for throwing the pillow at him.

I looked through the bags of food to see what Finnick had brought back. There were for burgers, four large fries, and two large drinks. "Why so much food?" I asked.

He sat down beside me at the island "I didn't eat lunch, so I'm starving." He handed my a burger and fries.

I carefully unwrapped the burger, taking a small bite "Why'd you have to leave?"

Finnick, who was already half done with his first burger, swallowed his mouthful. "Business meeting. Which didn't take too long, but since my father was there I decided to go ahead and tell him I found my mate." He took a drink from his soda "he was really happy until Cody blurted that you were human. Then he started to lecture me about blood lines."

I swallowed my own mouthful "So... He doesn't like that I'm human?"

Finnick shook his head "No. He's old fashioned in thinking alpha's should only mate with other werewolves, but." He put his hand on my thigh "I couldn't give less of a shit about what he thinks of you. You're my mate, and nothing will change that." He smiled and I could feel his thumb rub a small circle against my thigh. I smiled and wiped the mustard at the corner of his mouth away with my thumb.

His eyes wondered down to my lips before meeting my eyes again. After a long pause he started eating again.
