Grace's P.O.V.
By the time I had finished my burger and fries Finnick had finished all four of his. He wiped his mouth and hands on a napkin then dusted the crumbs off his hands. "Would you like to watch a movie?" He asked.
I shrugged slightly "I guess so. Maybe we could talk? Get to know each other a little bit?"
Finnick smiled "That sounds great." He gathered the food wrappers and tossed them in the trash, then held his hand out to me "C'mon, let's sit on the couch."
I curled up at one end, snagging the pillow that I'd thrown at Austin and hugging it close to my chest. "So... I guess the first thing I want to know is how old you are." I said.
Finnick smiled and leaned back against the couch "I already told you that. I turn twenty two next month." He looked over at me, "but I don't know how old you are."
"I'm eighteen." I said with a small smile. "I turn nineteen in April."
Finnick went slightly wide eyed "Really? Eighteen? I thought you were older." He said with a chuckle "You seemed older than that for some reason."
I shrugged slightly "I've been told I'm very mature for my age. People've always told me I seem older. I mean, I got hit on my college kids when I was fourteen." I snickered at the memory. "They got all embarrassed when I told them how old I was."
Finnick frowned slightly, but quickly resumed smiling "Are you, I mean, were you in college? Or are you still in high school?"
"I turned eighteen a little bit before I graduated, and yeah. I was going to the local community college, taking some lit and creative writing classes before, well—" I looked around "before all this happened." Guilt flashed across Finnick's features and I quickly asked "Are you in college at all?"
He shrugged "I take some business classes online. I tried doing the campus thing, but it didn't really work out too well." He turned so his body was facing me. "Have you dated a lot?" He asked, then quickly added "You don't have to answer if you don't want too."
I shifted, folding on leg beneath me "Not really. I mean, I dated a little in middle school, but they didn't last more than a month. I had did date a girl for a couple years in highschool, but after a year and a half she dropped me like a rock." I shrugged "I haven't really dated since."
Finnick looked surprised "You dated a girl?"
I laughed "Yeah. I mean, the only reason she and I dated is cause she asked me out and I didn't know how to say no, but once we were out of the honeymoon phase we were constantly fighting so it was only a matter of time. Still hurt to get dumped like that though."
Finnick smiled sympathetically "I've never dated anyone before. We're told that we only share our heart with our mate, doesn't mean we didn't have our crushes, and if we were feeling particularly rebellious we'd kiss, but that's it."
My stomach twisted. I felt guilty. I didn't know why. I had no reason to fee guilty. I hugged the pillow tighter to my chest. "Hey." Finnick touched my cheek "It's okay. It's not your fault that we were raised differently. Human's don't bond like werewolves do." He said. I felt his thumb move across my cheek bone and I instinctively leaned into his touch, closing my eyes, sighing slightly.
"Grace?" Finnick said softly. "May I make a request?" I opened my eyes and lifted my head. He looked nervous and fidgeted "Could I... Could we cuddle? I want... I want to hold you." I stared at him a moment and he quickly blurted "We don't have too if you don't want too. I just, thought I should ask."
I smiled and scooted closer to him, putting my head against his chest. He went stiff for a moment, before shifting so he could put both arms around me, pulling me close to his chest. The smell of pine needles and wood smoke surrounded me. I pressed my nose against his shirt, inhaling deeply.
Finnick's P.O.V.
I held Grace tight to my chest. I felt my whole body relax as I rested my cheek on top of her head. She was so much smaller than me, her hands, her waist, her shoulders. I was worried that she'd break if I squeezed too tight.
She pressed her nose into my shirt, taking deep breaths. She was taking in my scent, part of my wondered what I smelled like to her. I lowered my head, taking a deep breath of her sweet scent. Honey suckle and meadow flowers. I sighed happily, nuzzling her cheek.
She laughed softly, resting her head against my chest. "You're hearts racing." She said softly, looking up at me "Are you nervous?"
I shook my head and rubbed her back "Happy, excited. I get to touch you." I said, running my fingers through her silky soft hair. "This is all I've wanted since I saw you. To hold you like this."
"That's it?" She asked.
I smiled and kissed the top of her head "For now, yes."
