Day Six: It's Friday, Friday, gotta get down on Friday. Write about an awkward scenario where Rebecca Black's Friday breaks the silence.

Okay, I am going to do this. I am going to talk to him. We've been in school three weeks now, already. It won't seem weird. I mean, we do go to school together and were on the swim team together, and- shit. Here he comes. Oh, God, what do I say?

"Hey, Sam!" I said. There he is, standing beside his little car parked right in front of mine, coincidentally enough. I couldn't believe my luck when the guy I'd been crushing on for ages had the parking spot right across from me.

"Oh, hey, Grace. How are you?" He smiled. Smiling was good, right? Really good? Smiling meant he wanted to talk to me, right?

"I'm good. How about you?" I asked, although my heart was beating too fast and my hands were shaking and I'm sure Sam noticed but he just kept smiling and maybe he was just trying to be nice.

"Good." I said, and usually he would walk away, but he stayed. And then, it was silence. I stared at him, wanting to say something, anything, but nothing would come out. I was frozen, my mouth hanging open and my throat closing and Sam was waiting for me to say something or maybe he wanted to say something but all there was was staring and awkward mouth moving.

"IT'S FRIDAY, FRIDAY, GOTTA GET DOWN ON FRIDAY! GOTTA GET READY FOR THE WEEK-END, WEEK-END." A white VW bug with eyelashes stuck on the front headlights pulled into the parking lot a few spots over, blaring Rebecca Black's Friday.

It was simultaneous. Sam and I looked at the car, looked at each other, and started busting out in song as the cheerleader turned off her car and the music ended. We couldn't stop laughing, tears rolling down our faces as the bell rang out, signally our need to get to class.

"So, you going to the football game tonight?" Sam asked, his cheeks still red from laughing.

"Maybe, yeah." I said as we approached the building and he held the door for me.

"Well, maybe we could meet up and hang out then." He said, smiling and heading in the direction of his class.

"That would be great." I said, waving goodbye to Sam and hello to first period
