"Okay, bye honey! I love you." I heard my mom shout to me as I walked through the doors of the airport. I waved to her and made my way to security.
After I got through security and checked my bag in, I went to grab a bite to eat. I went to the dunkin' donuts and got a bagel and then sat down to eat, since my plane wouldn't be boarding for another hour.
After a few moments of me scrolling through my Instagram and eating my bagel, a tall guy came up to me.
"Uh, hi. Is this seat taken? There are no more." He said, making me look up form my phone. The guy was very tall, with brown hair and brown eyes.
"Yeah, sure." I said, taking another bite of my bagel.
After a few minutes of awkward silence, the guy said something to me. "I'm Nick."
"I'm (y/n)." I smiled a toothless smile.
"So, (y/n), where are you headed to?" He asked me, clearly just trying to make small talk.
"(a place you would like to go), how about you?"
"I'm going there too, what a coincidence."
I chuckled slightly and continued to scroll through my phone.
"Flight 36 to (place you would like to go) is now boarding, please make your way to gate B." A lady on the speaker system announced.
"Well, I should be going. It was nice meeting you." I smiled, and walked away to the gate.
When I arrived at the gate, I handed the lady my ticket. "Thank you for choosing American Airlines." She said to me, I smiled and boarded the plane, then walked to my seat.
When I got in my seat, I noticed a tall figure standing over me, and then proceeding to sit next to me. "Oh, hi." A familiar voice said. I turned to my side. It was Nick.
"Oh, hey." I smiled.
As the plane started to take off, I started to get noticeably nervous. I hated flying on planes, it was so horrible. It was like being on a death trap up in the air.
"A little nervous?" Nick chuckled.
"Uh, y— yeah." I stuttered.
"It's okay, nothing will happen." He assured me. "Just breath and stay calm." And, his words somehow made me feel a bit better. I nodded my head.
"Do— do you want me to hold your hand?" He asked me. I looked at him for a moment. "Or— or is that totally weird? Yeah, it is. Sorry. Nevermind."
I chuckled. "No, no. It's fine, that would make me feel better, actually."
He sighed of relief and held out his hand, and I intertwined my fingers with his. I sighed and relaxed in my seat, taking deep breaths.
When we got into the air, I felt relaxed with Nick by my side. "Thank you for that." I thanked him.
"Of course, no problem." He smiled.
I held onto his hand for the rest of the flight until we got off. We got into the airport and said our goodbyes, and then I went to grab a bite to eat. When I reached in my pocket to grab my money, I found a little slip of paper in it. I opened it, and it read;
It was nice meeting & holding hands with you ! Talk soon, Nick.

I smiled and got out my phone.
