"Firs' Years! Firs' years this way!"

"Hello Hagrid," Harry and I greeted as we walked over to him.

"Woah," Ron stared at Hagrid with wide eyes.

"All righ' yeh two?" Hagrid beamed down at us. "Alrigh', four to a boat on'y!" he called out to the present first years.

Harry,  Ron and I all clambered into a boat, joined by Hermione.

"Alrigh' FORWARD!"

The boats then began to move by themselves smoothly across the dark lake.

"Yeh should be gettin' yer first glimpse of the school any minute now," Hagrid announced from the front. Soon we saw it, and I gasped.

"HOGWARTS IS A GIANT CASTLE?" I said loudly.

"That just proves my point about muggle borns," Malfoy's voice carried across the lake.

"Shut up Malfoy, or I'll push you off your boat and into the lake, where no one will find your scrawny little body!" I threatened.

"You're one to talk about scrawny," he sneered.

"You're just jealous that I'm more man than you'll ever be!" I retorted.

Everybody roared with laughter, including Hagrid. Malfoy hid behind Crabbe, probably blushing redder than ron's hair.

"That's right, hide behind your boyfriend!"

"Alrigh' Armadi, thas enough," Hagrid chuckled.

"Is he allowed to laugh at that?" Hermione whispered.

"Probably not," I whispered back,"But Hagrid's my homie, we tight yo."

She rolled her eyes and smiled. "You really haven't changed Mads."

"Hey," I mocked offense,"What's that supposed to mean?"

She just gave me a side hug and grinned.

We docked at the grassy bank of the school and clambered out. Hagrid motioned us to follow him, and led us up the steps of the huge castle, knocking at the entrance 3 times.

A tall witch dressed in emerald robes and a very serious expression opened the doors.

My first thought: this was a woman to become besties with.

"Firs' years Professor McGonagall," Hagrid said.

"Thank you Hagrid. I will take them from here."

She pulled the doors wide open and stepped back; The entance hall was HUGE, my whole house could probably fit in it. And it was gorgeous too, the torches giving it a vintage but glamorus look, and the marble staircases that led to probably hundreds of floors were stunning.

Professor McGonagall walked us across the hall until we reached another set of doors, only this time you can hear a great deal of voices on the other side.

"Welcome to Hogwarts." She began, "The start of term banquet will begin shortly, but first, you will sorted into your houses. The sorting is an important ceremony because your house will be something like your family here in Hogwarts. You will go to class with your house, sleep in your house dormitory, and spend free time in your house common room. There are four houses here at Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin," she said the last one with less bravado.
