"Are you ready Miss Dursley?" Professor Dumbledore asked.
"Ready as I'll ever be," I answered gripping my wand.
It's been two weeks since we started Hogwarts, and two weeks since I've been given a choice to advance in Transfiguration, which I've been told has never been done before.
Now, after studying and practicing, I was ready to take the tests.
He raised his wand and summoned the things we would need. He levitated the first object.
"Transfigure this beetle into a button."
Done.
"Raven into a cup."
Done.
"Teapot into tortoise."
Done.
He just kept throwing things at me, looking more and more delighted.
"Rock into a dog!"
But instead of it turning to a dog, it just grew paws and a tail.
"Crap," I moaned slumping down to my knees.
He transfigured it back into a rock.
"Give it one more try," he said encouragingly.
I focused harder. I recited the spell again and waved my wand.
It was a better attempt to say, at least now it had a nose.
"I guess I should have studied harder, " I said abashed.
"Don't feel discouraged, you are still 2 years ahead of your class!" He said proudly. "I didn't expect you to pass all of transfiguration anyways, not with all the school work you have. I'm very proud of you."
I beamed. "So where does this leave me?"
"Starting Monday you will join your fellow third year Gryffindors in transfiguration," He replied, his blue eyes shining. "May I say, you are one extraordinary witch Armadi."
"So I've been told," I smiled. "Thank you."
"Why don't you go enjoy the rest of your saturday? I'd say you've more than earned it." He said as he banished the objects.
I nodded, getting up and brushing off dust from my skirt. I was making my way towards the door when I paused and turned to look at him. "Professor?"
"Hm?"
"Can I tell Harry about me being a Muse?" I looked at him straight in the eyes. "Please sir, he's like my brother and I feel terrible hiding something like this from him. Plus, he's seen it happen and has never told anyone, so I know I can trust he won't do it now. Please Professor Dumbledore," I pleaded.
His face turned severe then softened. "Very well Miss Dursley, you may tell him. But please be wary no one hears you when you do. As of now, Professor McGonagall, the Gray Lady and I are the only ones that know besides you."
"Gray Lady?"
"Helena Ravenclaw." His face turned serious. "It is vital that no one else should know about you except Harry."
"But why sir?"
"I will explain to you why, but another time. Go off now, enjoy the rest of your day." He gestured to the door.
