I ran up the stairs, around the corridors, and finally to the Transfiguration class.

"You barely made it," hissed Hermione.

"At least I did," I tried to catch my breath as I sat down, "Where's Harry and Ron?"

"I don't know, I left them at the table earlier, maybe they got lost?"

I shook my head and took out parchment, quills and a bottle of ink. "So where's Professor McGonagall?"

She got a slight smile on her face. "See that tabby cat up on the desk?" Hermione said.

"Yeah?"

"That's her."

My eyes popped. "She can turn into a cat?!"

"Yes, It is called being an Animagus Miss Dursley," She transformed in front of my desk.

"Wicked! Can I learn to do that too?" I said awestruck.

She smiled slightly. "It would be very hard, but with proper training, and careful vigilance, I believe you can."

"WHEN CAN I START?"

"When you enter your 6th year." She transformed back into a cat and leaped on her desk.

"What a bummer," I said disappointed. "That's technically 6 years away!"

"Don't think about it too much, and soon enough, it'll be our sixth year," Hermione responded, trying to cheer me up.

"You know what animal I would become if I was an animagus?"

"What?"

"A unicorn." I said simply, just as Harry and Ron rushed in.

"Thank god she's not here," Ron panted. "I thought we'd get it for sure."

"May I ask why you two are late?"

Professor McGonagall had jumped off the desk and turned back human, midway through the air.

"That was bloody brilliant," Ron said shocked.

"Thank you Mr. Weasley. Maybe I could transform one of you into a watch, that way, one of you might be on time," she peered sternly at them through her square spectacles.

"We got lost," Harry said sheepishly.

("HA!" Hermione whispered triumphantly.)

"I take it neither of you needs to be directed to their seats?"

Harry and Ron sat next to me, still embarrassed.

"Now, here in this classroom, there will be no toleration of fooling around," McGonagall started the class. "Transfiguration is one of the most complicated and dangerous branches of magic, so I expect all of you to put your entire focus while in here. One toe out of line, and you will be out. You have been warned."

"Professor?" I raised my hand.

"Yes, Miss Dursley?"

"What sort of things will we be transfiguring?"

She changed her desk into a pig and back again. I think we all were all very impressed and I knew I couldn't wait to get started.

"You will learn that in your fifth year."
