I woke up to the beautiful chirpings of blue jays and golden rays portraying through my windows. Not. My alarm went off which meant I had to get my butt off my bed and start getting ready for school. It was seven a.m, so I had about 40 minutes before I was to head over to school.

I noticed my dark brown curls were tangled with one another as I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I began brushing my hair into place, but the problem with having naturally curly hair is having it frizz up when you brush it.

"Hurry up Amber!", shouted my father from the other side of the milky white door. I quickly brushed my teeth, flossed, and washed my face with cold water before I made my way back to my somewhat messy room.

"Amber! Have you seen my keys?!" my mothers voice came from the kitchen. I swear that women is constantly losing her car keys.

"No!" I exclaimed. In a minute my morning playlist was fuming from my black laptop and I placed myself in front of my black dresser and reached for my hair leave-in conditioner to tame my curls. I applied bb cream to my face and curled my eyelashes. I applied mascara to finish my facial routine....what? I'm a girl okay? Then I opened my top drawer and pulled out a black muscle tee with a growling tiger printed on it (my favorite). I got a pair of dark jeans to go with it and quickly put on my pair of black converse. I grabbed my black leather back pack (after throwing in my phone, keys, and homework in it of course) and ran into the kitchen.

"I'm leaving. Make sure to lock the doors when you leave ok? bye." My mother said as she hurried out the front door, leaving me with a messy kitchen. Realizing I only had 15 minutes left, I turned to the freezer and pulled out a lean pocket. As I placed the lean pocket in the microwave my father came into the kitchen.

"Well lock the doors when you leave."

  "K dad, bye."

"Bye." With that my father closed the door and seconds later I heard his truck  pull out of the driveway. As you can see, my parents and I don't have a strong bond at all. After my brother joined the Marines, there was hardly ever any talk around our house. My brother was indeed the light of our house and I miss him everyday, but life goes on and I know I'll see him soon.

I finished my lean pocket and headed towards my car, locking the door behind me. Today was possibly going to be a weird day, considering the fact that I had English with Ethan today. Yesterday I had tried to tell Ethan about Melina cheating on him, but only because Alyssa asked me to. Alyssa and Melina had a bad history and all Alyssa has focused on is on how to make Melina's life miserable. But when I tried to warn Ethan, Melina, the wicked witch appeared and I had no time to explain anything, so I left. All I wanted for today was to avoid that topic because, let's be real, I don't even know the guy.

"And I didn't even notice that people were staring at me, I was just dancing around in the hideous clown dress!" Serenity was telling us about her interesting trip to the mall yesterday which had us all laughing hysterically. It was break time and my friends and I were sitting at a black picnic table perfectly placed under a beautiful red maple tree. Students were rushing to get breakfast or maybe their lockers, wherever they were headed, they looked flushed. I never really ate breakfast at school because I always ate at home or brought snacks to school. As I pulled out a chocolate granola bar out of my back pack, I noticed Xavier walking alone, dark circles forming under his eyes. Melina came after him, looking rather angry, and spun him around. I sat up straight as the scene in front of me began to unfold.

"Xavier! I'm talking to you!" Melina excalimed, causing several heads to turn in their direction. Ethan came from around the corner where Melina and Xavier were having their little scene, and stopped almost abruptly. He looked at Xavier and then at Melina before he yawned dramatically and stretched his arms over his head. Now that I look at it, he looked so exhausted.
