"Amber please! Please! Please! Pleeeaaaase." Alyssa Nilson, my cousin, pleaded. She had been aching to get her bellybutton pierced for about a week now, but her car had been bashed by some mischievious teenaged boys and was in the shop now getting repaired. Needless to say, she turned to me for transportation. No, she wasn't using me. We've known eachother since we were babies, we practically considered ourselves sister's.

"Fine, but do not try to pressure me into getting any other piercings." I gave in as I grabbed my car keys and bag.

"I promise!", she squeeled with a huge grin on her face. She turned on her heels and dashed to the passenger door. I unlocked my white honda civic and she rushed in. I think she's had too much sugar today. I rolled my eyes as I opened the door and got in, taking in the fresh scent of my car.

"Quit smiling", I snapped, but turned to give her a big smile.

"Oh I'm sorry Amber, I just love piercings. I'm sorry you're such a goody girl." she replied in a sarcastic tone.

"I am not a goody girl. For your infromation I called in sick today so I wouldn't have to take the late night shift." I replied with fake pride. We both burst out laughing. Okay so I may not be as rebellious as Alyssa, but I sure as hell was not a goody girl either. I turned on the radio to Air1 for the rest of the ride. I parked my car in front of Staircase Tattoo and Body Piercing and turned off the ignition.

"Hey! What are you ladies getting today?" asked Tim, the best member of Staircase tattoo, as soon as we walked in.

"She wants her belly pierced." I emphasized 'she' so he'd know I wasn't here for anything. I dragged a violet, leathered, stool next to Tim's station and sat down. I slowly took out my phone to record the process so I could show it to Alyssa later on. Tim came back with alcohol, some scissor looking tool and a belly ring.

"Now, it might hurt a bit depending on whether your'e a whimp or not." he jokes, "But try not to move" Tim gently advised Alyssa as she lied down on the also, violet, leathered, seat and lifted her shirt exposing her bare bellybutton. Alyssa quikly shut her light, brown eyes and then opened them once she felt the needle go through. I'm pretty sure it hurt somewhat. She gave a sly smile and reached out to touch her now pierced bellybutton.

Ding! Ding! The golden bells that were dangling on the door signaled that a new customer had just walked in. I looked up to find Melina Davis walk hand in hand with Xavier Diaz. A huge grin was plastered across her makeup covered face, which annoyed the hell out of me. You see Melina is known to be the biggest bitch at Monroe High. Okay maybe my friends and I called her that, so what? Not everybody bows to her the way she wants them to. When somebody as spoiled, rich, conceited, and popular has a huge smile around strangers they're usually being two faced or getting their way. I watched as they briefly discussed a tattoo Melina was eager to get with Miranda (a super chill tattoo artist of Staircase Tattoo). I didn't even realize that Alyssa had paid and thanked Tim.

"C'mon let's go. I don't want your parents to get worried or pissed off." I jumped as I heard her voice.

"Right. Let's go." I replied a little nervous. She gave me a suspicious glare, but then walked out.

"I thought Melina was Dating Ethan." she said, breaking the silence in the car. I shrugged. I really didn't care about those kids. Melina dated different guys every other month.

"It's Melina, what do you expect?", we chuckled at my remark. 15 minutes later I parked my car in front of my mint colored house. The porch light was on so I knew my parents were home. We walked inside quietly, so to not disturb my parents. It was only 10:30 pm, but knowing my parents they were probably asleep by now. Alyssa locked the door as I headed towards the kitchen. Alyssa was spending the night over at my house so that I could give her a ride to school and a ride to the car shop tomorrow evening. I quickly grabbed two bottles of lemonade+Green tea before heading to my room.

When I got to my room Alyssa was brushing her long light brown hair and watching The Walking Dead. I plopped down on my bed and threw her a bottle. Unfortanately for me, she caught it just in time. We conversed about the song we were composing and school. Then she asked about Robert, my abusive ex.

"I mean has he tried talking to you recently?

"No and I hope it stays that way." I replied. I knew my voice sounded upset, but I only hoped she hadn't noticed it. After The Walking Dead finished we decided to go to sleep. I still couldn't sleep without having flashback's from when Robert would beat me. With every flashback came more hatred towards Robert. Alyssa was the only one that knew about my relationship with him. Thankfully she had helped me out and set me free. something I wasn't capable of doing at that time. I closed my eyes and imagined the happiest life story there could be. Tomorrow is monday. School.
