(Gris house)A new day of school gone. Oh! I love it when it's over!! Gris, Megan, Anna, Laura, Tris and I are ready to sell our old stuff. You know, things we don't use anymore but that are in perfect conditions! Gris already has a car, she drives us to her porch, her house it's located in one of the riches neighborhoods of Chicago, so our probability of success is quite high!
"All ready! Lets do this!" Tris closes the full of stuff trunk and sits on the seat next to me.
Gris turns the keys, the car engine starts and... my stomach is full of butterflies, it's my first time selling stuff! I mean, I'm going to be able to earn a little bit of money if my own. I'll buy once and for all a computer of my own, I always wanted to have one! Yeah it might seem a selfish inversion but I'm sick and tired, I really want to make my movies without the constantly family pressure! Always Kam why does it take you so long??! or... It's the computer of the family just hurry up! Etc.
"We're here!" I push aside Tris's head that doesn't allows me seeing through the window.
"Wow!" The house is... is... A mansion! A really big mansion!
Ok no... I'm exaggerating a little bit. But it's huge... (That's clear.)
"Ok guys, Tris and Kam, you guys please help me with the tables. Put them there, next to the garage door. And the rest follow me." Gris explains it to us while we empty the trunk.
"Ok" he turns and catches my eyes.
Oh God I love him!
"Perfect! Lets go!" Laura leaves the last two things on the floor and closes the trunk. "This is going to be awesome!"
"Hey! Who brought this skateboard?" I can't believe someone is selling it! It's new! I mean...
"I brought it for you... In case we don't have a lot of "customers". I don't know." He blushes, again looking into my eyes.
"Oh... Thank you." Silence.
"Ok guys, stop being so cute and let's start working!" Megan breaks the ice, as always, and thanks God it was starting to be a little bit awkward.
"So what do we need to do?!" The voice of Anna asking Gris what to do sounds now far away from us. Tris and I take the first table and go ahead to the place where we were ordered to leave it. Once we take them all, the other group come with tablecloths, very cool wooden boxes and some cookies for us.
Yum! I'm starving...
But... Before having those delicious cookies we need to prepare everything. We separate each other stuff in different tables and boxes.
"Ok, we all are in charge of our table and money, but if someone needs to leave for some reason, every one needs to keep an eye on whom's stuff. Those are the rules." Ok Gris we get it, now... The cookies!!
-------------------------------------------------------
People come and go, I take the skate and I leave the skate, we sell things and we talk while no one buy us a thing. It's now eight o'clock (p.m), we're still here, rain drops start to fall and the little stuff that because of its "expensive cost" haven't got sold can't get wet. More over, as if weather didn't have enough by changing suddenly from a sunny beautiful day to a rainy and kind of sad afternoon, the wind gets stronger and the cold comes for a visit.
