~Alex's POV~Do you ever wonder, how many stars there are, how many galaxies, etc. Because I have, there is no existing proof for others out there, but i believe there are . For me, nothings really impossible, if there were any other planets with life, I would take a space ship the second i knew, anything's better than this trashy world. It's full of bad people who like to suck the life out of you, and they always seem to go after me. My life's like an elevator, going up and down constantly, doors open and close , but they never stay open for long.
See, it's hard to understand what I'm saying, because I'm full of none sense, I'm weird and quirky, but when I'm my own self, people attack, lighting their torches and throw their pitchforks filled with negativity. I've always been that inside kid, quite active and strange but never expressive, that is why I'm such an insecure person. Since I recently moved here, I have no friends, being a transfer here sucks, one month already passed and I only gain one friend. Usually, I'm not social at all, but it's always nice to at least have one friend or two, you know. But in my experience, not all friends are loyal, not all friends stay, but some friends betray.
~Flashback~
Claire pushed me against the lockers.''And you think you're so smart?'' She poked my forehead repeatedly . I shrugged her hands off my face, getting really mad.
''What is your problem?'' I whispered crossing my arms looking down
She scoffed loudly. ''What is.. my problem? What's your problem?''
I shook my head, looking down, avoiding eye contact with her.
''Aw, does someone need their mommy?'' She teased, laughing along with her other two friends.
''Can i leave?'' I bit out, sounding very annoyed.
''Ahem, we're not done here, worthless piece of shit'' She swung her arm, hitting me on the side of my face, hard.
''Alex?'' A voice called, my teacher interrupted, snapping me out of my flashback into reality.
''Yeah?'' I respond, sitting straight realizing I'm still here.
''Would you like to explain the equation to the class?'' She asked, raising the pointer.
I glanced around to see three girls laughing.
''I'll pass'' I look down, flicking my pencil.
She seemed worried , which doesn't surprise me because she's realized, through this past month how I am, which is odd but she's pretty nice. After the class was over, I stood up and gathered my stuff to go home.
''Are you coming? Leena bumped my shoulder.
''Where?'' I questioned
She reached into her purse, looks as if she was looking for something. ''Get something to eat?'' She replied, finally taking her keys.
''Sure why not'' I smiled at her following her into her Mini Cooper, seemed pretty nice, I usually don't fuss about cars, but she's very protective of it, and it looks as if new.
Leena turned the ignition of the car and drove out the school ground, finally. After we just talked about stuff going on, we decided to jam out to some good music. Something I like about Leena, is that she has similar taste as me and she understands me, she's been through some stuff too, but she's learned how to be strong, but me?... I haven't.
''So are you ok? You seem gloomy '' She glanced at me quickly, trying to maintain her focus on the road.
''Hmm, yeah'' I replied with a slight smile, looking out the window.
''Are you sure?''
I nodded, realizing that we have arrived to the place. We both got out of the car and walked inside the restaurant. The waiter kindly directed us to our booth and placed two menu's down for us to order.
''If you need anything, my name's Aaliyah just ask for me and I'll be right here in no time'' She said as she wrote down her full name onto the paper.
We nicely smiled at her as she walked away, I then continued to browse the menu, trying to find something light to eat.
Suddenly, I felt a choking feeling on my wrist, Leena had grabbed it, smiling wider as she tightened her grasp. ''Oh my god'' She squealed.
''What!?'' I asked, concerned about her expression.
''Brett's here!''
She looked at me in excitement, smiling like an idiot, making me to look at his directions. So I did, I turned around trying to find who's she's pointing out. I couldn't tell who she was freaking out about, it was a group of guys from our school that appear to be seniors. Some of them looked familiar, some did not, but then again, I only just transfered here a month ago. Two of the guys gestured our way, causing Brett to look in our direction. He caught me off guard, I quickly turned my head and slid down my chair to hide.
''Did he just look at us?'' Leena smiled, shaking my hand, still holding it.
I nodded, clearly gesturing at her to stop staring at him.It was very awkward, the way he glanced started a strange reaction . He was leaning on the table, as if he was trying to hide the fact that they were talking about something.
*****
After we had our meal, we were ready to head home, Leena was offering me a ride home but I declined, I wanted to walk by myself, listen to music and relax. She understood why, considering I like to be myself at times.
Leena had already left, so I decided to start walking home. I usually do this when I need my space to think about everything and get away from everyone. I just need time to get away from everything thats bothering me and distracting me, like school.
''Im so sorry'' A guy bumped into me while I detangled my headphones.
''No, it's fine, I wasn't paying attention'' I mentioned, looking down avoiding eye contact.
He kneeled down, helping me grab all my stuff that fell from my bag and my phone, I did realize he was staring at me from time as he did so. I then decide to mind my business and continue my way home.
