I want to start out by thanking every single one of you who has stuck it out until the very end of this massive project! To show my thanks, I have my new favorite gif of all time up there for your enjoyment. Seriously though, I don't think that a time will come in my life when that gif isn't funny. Naruto's face... Priceless.
In total, this book is 78 chapters, 765 pages (double spaced, Times New Roman, 12-point font), 183,808 words, and 1,003,208 characters, and took me 101 days to write (including editing). I think that I type a good thirty words per minute faster now. I have also gone through and edited every chapter (but not the A/N's). However, I edited them myself so there are a probably a few pesky errors still left.
Feel free to read my other works if you enjoyed my writing style (I'm going to assume that you at least don't hate it since you made it this far). I have one Kakashi One-Shot that's decent-ish. I don't know, I was in a sappy mood when I wrote it, which is strange for me because I usually try to avoid emotions. There is also the Impossible Trilogy (it is a Kakashi fanfic as well). I personally really like this series. I put a lot of effort into the plot and the character development, and I think that it really shows. We are now on the third and final book, and [insert maniacal laughter] oh boy do I have a lot of things planned for that book. I also have an original fantasy novel in the works, Vicissitant, but world building takes for-freaking-ever (why I write fanfic in a nutshell) so that one's a ways off before I'm ready to start posting it. I think that this summer is probably the soonest that I will be able to get that one out. All I can say about it is DRAGONS! Because dragons are awesome (if not a little overdone, but who cares, I still want to write a book about freaking dragons).
All in all, I just want to say thank you for reading, voting, commenting, supporting, and yelling at me in the comments for Ana and Kakashi to just get together already. Yeah, I'm amazed that I was able to have patience with myself on that one. You know, I actually came really close to ending this whole book on a depressing note. However, I decided that after all of the shit that happens and I put Ana through, it would be just plain cruel to not give her a happy ending (I also figured that I might get death threats too). However, I'm very happy with how I decided to end this story. I know that it did take forever for Ana and Kakashi to finally get together and stuff, but I wanted them to be friends first and foremost. There's a difference between fangirling over someone and loving them, a huge difference. I've read a lot of fanfics where they're like: they meet, they get lost in each other's eyes; they realize that they love each other; without any fear of rejection or actual working relationship to start as a base for their "love", they admit this "love" almost immediately; they get married; they have kids that they name after their dead loved ones (I never got this part, why would you name your child after someone that you can't think about without becoming sad, it's really not fair to the kid who you've just burdened with a depressing name); and then they live happily ever after. I have nothing against people who like writing that sort of fanfic (and I've read and enjoyed quite a few of them myself), but that's not what I wanted this story to be. Admit it though, when Ana and Kakashi did finally get together, it was a lot more rewarding than it would have been if I made them fall in love and give teary confessions in like chapter twenty. What I'm trying to say is: I didn't intentionally torture you guys (I'm not that cruel), I just wanted their relationship to be believable and worthwhile.
Sequel!!!!!!! So I really wasn't going to do a sequel to this book. I was happy with where I was going to end it and was ready to move on to the next project, but I can't. Between how much I love writing for these characters and the many comments I've gotten hinting that I should make a sequel, I couldn't stop Ana's story here. Besides, the ninja world always has problems, right? I thought long and hard about this because I wanted the plot to be a worthy follow-up to the first book, and I think that I've settled on something pretty good. The link to the next book will be in the comments and can also be found on my profile page, of course. I hope to see you there.
