"EmberKit! EmberKit! Wake up!" The ginger she-kit heard. She opened her eyes to see her sister DarkKit, a white she-kit with black and gray spots, prodding at her side. EmberKit got up and stretched "What?" she yawned. DarkKit cocked her head to the side and said "you were screaming in your sleep, whats wrong?" she asked. EmberKit looked at her sister should i tell her? She is very smart. But maybe the dream will scare her.... EmberKit thought. " It was nothing, just a nightmare" she answered.

"Emberkit! Darkkit! Come here!" a voice called from outside the nursery. "Coming!" Darkkit mewled and she scrambled off with Emberkit towards the nursery exit. Bright light hit the tiny kits' eyes while they kicked up sand, clumsily running to a dark red she-cat. Emberkit lost her footing and bashed right into the she-cat. "Oof!" she mewled, and shook her head, shaking sand out of her ears. The red she-cat turned to the two sisters, smiling. "Be careful." she advised. Emberkit lashed her tail with embaressment. "Sorry Redwing." she mewed to her mother. Redwing, the red she-cat, led her kits to the stream in the middle of the camp.

Emberkit looked around excitedly: This was her first time out of camp! Looking back she saw her own nest, the nursery, which was a large bush dappled lightly with white flowers. A bit close to it was a tall palm tree, the apprentices' den right beneath it. The Warriors' den was another tree, accept this one was lower then the apprentices' den, and its leaves and branches scraped the ground, creating a cave-like den inside. Somewhere around the middle of the camp was the medicine cat's den. It was a gray cave, with moss growing on the side. A tall tree grew right threw the roof of the cave, creating shade around the den. The elders' den was just a bit off from the den, a stump of a tree that spread out wide, long enough for a good amount of nests for the elderly cats. Then finally there was the Big shell, a large white sparkling shell, sprinkled with pearls and sand.

"Hello? Emberkit!" Emberkit jumped as her sister melted her name. "S-Sorry, what?" Emberkit replied. Redwing nodded towards the stream, a silver streak of water just swimming with fish. "All Oceanclan kits must learn how to swim, so today I will be teaching you." she meowed. Before she could say anything else, the two kits splashed in, scaring away all the fish upstream. Redwing sighed "I was going to say how we needed to be careful, because I was going to teach you how to fish." Emberkit lowered her tail, causing water to run over it. "oops." she mumbled. Redwing just smiled back at her with amusement, as she started to instruct the kits how to swim.

"Woah!" Emberkit meowed as she slipped with the weight of a minnow in her mouth. Her sister had gone off to play with Winterberry, the medicine cat, while Emberkit was hunting fish alone by the stream. "You've got quite a fish there." a voice meowed behind her. Fox dung, Emberkit thought, and turned around
