EmberPaw blinked her eyes open. Dim sunlight shone threw the apprentices den, and a day had past since EmberPaw had a vision in front of DriedPaw. EmberPaw looked around the den. DarkPaw was sleeping next to her, and GreenPaw was snoring loudly next to EchoPaw, while RosePaw was twitching in her sleep nearby, and DriedPaw slept silently by himself in the corner of the den. EmberPaw sighed and got up. I have to do something about these visions... She thought, and prodded DarkPaw's side with one paw, trying to wake her up. "eh..wha?" DarkPaw said, half sleeping."Come on! get up!" EmberPaw whispered loudly. DarkPaw opened her eyes and yawned. "oh yah, training.." she said and got up slowly. EmberPaw pointed her ears toward the entrance of the den, signaling her to go first. DarkPaw nodded and padded out silently, And EmberPaw padded behind. I've got to find that burnt tom. EmberPaw thought, and flexed her claws And I'll fight him! No matter what! She declared in her mind. "Well are you coming?" ShadeFur said. EmberPaw shook herself "Y-yah! be right there!" she mewed, and raced toward her mentor. AngelFur took the lead of the small group, with DarkPaw following behind, drooping her tail. And behind her was ShadeFur padding silently, with EmberPaw in the back, her tail high, and her expression happy. The small group finally reached the battle training area, filled with sand and palm trees. EmberPaw tilted her head upwards, greeting the fine ocean breeze.AngelFur stopped and turned around to give her apprentice instructions, and ShadeFur did the same. EmberPaw listened closely, trying to remember each direction for each move. She was about to strike out at her mentor when suddenly something knocked her over. "ha! bet that you didn't expect that!" a young tom voice said. EmberPaw hissed in annoyance. DriedPaw if you keep on doing this one day you'll end up dead! EmberPaw thought, and let herself go limp, using a battle move that she had learned.
DriedPaw loosened his grip by instinct "ha! You really think I'm gonna fall for that?!" he snorted. EmberPaw grinned and flopped backwards, knocking the air out of DriedPaw, the she turned around and stood over him, holding the tom down with a firm grip. "actually yes!" She said mockingly. DriedPaw hissed and the two were about to start fighting again when ShadeFur stood in between them, twitching her tail in annoyance. "Would you two ever stop quarreling?!" she asked, and walked of to talk to AngelFur. EmberPaw gave her chest fur a quick lick. Looking around she saw one of the slightly older apprentices, Flowerpaw, who alaways hung out with Driedpaw. "Hm! Stupid tom!" she spat at the tom. DriedPaw glared at her. "Hey I saved your life! And you never even said at least a small 'thanks'!" he hissed. EmberPaw felt her pelt bristle, and got up, her dark forest green eyes aggressively meeting DriedPaw's pale green ones. You don't deserve a thanks!. EmberPaw thought "Well you were sure acting like a love-bird afterwards!" EmberPaw snapped, but took a step back in surprised of what she just said. DriedPaw's pelt bristled with embarrassment, and he froze for a second, his eyes clouded with thought. Then he curled his lip "Heartless piece of fox-dung!" he spat, and stormed off towards Flowerpaw. EmberPaw watched the two start to gossip in the corner of the training area, Flowerpaw glaring at Emberpaw. "Stupid she-cat." Flowerpaw mumbled.
"Emberpaw!" Shadefur meowed, and the apprentice jumped in surprise. Spinning around, Emberpaw saw that Shadefur was annoyed. "I want no more of this nonsense. Now I want you to pair up with Flowerpaw." She ordered, Then Rockfall-Flowerpaw's mentor- walked up to the two apprentices in the corner. "Flowerpaw, go train with Emberpaw. And Driedpaw," he turned to the pale tabby tom. "Youre mentor is not here today, but you can train with Darkpaw. Now go." The tom ordered in a low gruff voice. Emberpaw gulped I might have used the wrong words with Driedpaw.. She thought, looking over to the bratty she-cat, Flowerpaw. I think I'm gonna have to pay for those words... Flowerpaw gazed coldly at Emberpaw, a deep growl rising in her throat.
The two she-cats started to circle each other, hackles raised and tails bristled. "You ready, little furball?" Flowerpaw growled. "Ready as you are." Emberpaw repiled as calmly as she could. Flowerpaw bunched up her haunches, ready to spring out at the ginger she-cat. With a wail, Flowerpaw flung herself at Emberpaw, knocking her to the ground. Flowerpaw held her down with one of her massive paws. "Nows the time to impress your little crush." Flowerpaw hissed into Emberpaw's ear in a low voice. Anger bubbled in Emberpaw's chest. "Shut up!" she growled and kicked the she-cat off. Flowerpaw crashed and tumbled in the sand, coughing. Now! Emberpaw thought, and ran towards Flowerpaw. Before the ruffled she-cat could get up, Emberpaw pounced on her side, making Flowerpaw cough out dust. "Thats enough." Shadefur said.
Flowerpaw opened her eyes, and rolled over, squishing Emberpaw. "Ack!" she mewled as she was crushed in the sand. "I said thats enough! Flowerpaw, get up!" Shadefur hissed. Flowerpaw gracefully got up, and curtly walked over to Driedpaw, who had one paw pinning Darkpaw down. Emberpaw shakily got up. Yup. Defintily the wrong words.
