Chapter 9

Sunday
I sat on my couch with Mary, munching on snacks and playing videos games. Mario cart to be exact. We had absolutely nothing planned for today and we're bored out of our minds. Not to mention we had school meetings tomorrow but at different times. So we couldn't go together. Meaning we would be starting our college classes soon. I groaned and tossed my remote aside. "What's wrong?" Mary asked pausing the game.

"The thought of school popped into my head. I really don't wanna go. I want more time to spend with my friends." I stood up and paced to room. "You mean your boyfriend.." She gave me a look and continued "We came here for college and that's what we're going to do. We have to get this done. Figure out our lives. Bobby is most likely going to be starting school here soon as well." I snapped out of it. "Wait, how old is Bobby?" I panicked.

"Well, he can drive." She mentioned. "Umm, I started driving at 15 and a half! Oh my god!" I pulled on my hair. I am 18 and possibly illegally dating a baby. "Hey, don't trip. We don't know. He could be 17." And the thought of that possibly calmed me down a bit. "Right...that's a little better." I smiled. She nodded and picked up the cheese that you could spray and put a crap ton in her mouth.

I opened my mouth signaling her to give me some too. My mouth filled with cheese. Once i was satisfied with the amount in my mouth I closed it but she continued to put cheese all over my face. I stepped back a few feet and laughed. "Mary!!!?" I scolded. She laughed and held her stomach. I walked to the fridge and grabbed the whipped cream. Of course you already know what happened next. I slapped it in her face.

We probably ran around the house chasing each other with random condiments from the fridge and making a mess of ourselves and the house. I accidentally threw an entire water bottle at her instead of spraying it at her. What could I say, it was slippery. It was a complete mess and we were covered in food. We sat on the staircase giggling at ourselves.

The doorbell rang and the first thing that went through my head was 'why now?'. This was not the perfect time to be knocking at our door for whoever it was. We both had froze. "Who is that?" I whispered. She shrugged and we both stood up. "Answer it well." She pushed me. I gave her and evil look and went to look through the peep hole. There was nothing there.

I looked back at Mary. "There is nobody there." And opened the door. Squaring on the doorstep was the boys in black masks. I'm sure it was Andrew who stood up and threw me over his shoulder and carried me and Mary both out to out backyard. They set us down and threw bags at us. "You have five seconds to put those masks on." They stood together pointing squirt guns at us.

Inside the bags were two more masks. A unicorn and a frog mask. We put them on a giggled. Andrew sat at a lawn chair fixing up some music with the computer he brought and a speaker system. Bobby left to get more supplies and Dee stood guard. Knowing me and Mary could totally take Dee together we didn't want to ruin their fun. Whatever they were doing.

Bobby gave Mary a squirt gun and turned to me and gave me one as well. He stared at me through the mask for a second before kissing me through our masks. "That was pointless." Mary laughed. He turned to her and sprayed her with his gun. I laughed as he pulled a blue bucket over to our side, similar to the one sitting next to Dee.

I looked inside seeing blue water balloons. Andrew finally got the music going. He then went inside leaving us waiting. It was getting pretty late. "Guys what are we..." Before I could finish I was sprayed with water. I stayed quiet and waited. Andrew came back with a bunch of people and equipment. "Wait Andre..." I was sprayed again. I began walking towards Andrew but was hit with a water balloon.

They set up speakers on top of the stone pile aside of the pool. Suddenly the music Andrew was playing was amped up 10x louder than it was. "Yeah!" Andrew yelled. Dee and Bobby raised their guns and pointed them at us yelling. People were pouring into the backyard cheering. "Whoa wait guys! I don't know about this!" I yelled and took off my mask. "Water fight!" Everyone grabbed guns and water balloons went flying.
