I researched Japanese dishes for this one shot on the internet, so I apologize if any information/ingredients of the dishes are incorrect.

Haru

It was a relaxing Saturday night when you and your lover, Haru, decided to make dinner together. It was strange, since the two of your were just watching a movie silently on the couch until he suggested it.
As soon as the offer left his lips, your eyes lit up similar to Christmas lights in December. You enjoyed Japanese cuisine probably more then anyone, and were even passionate about it. You often practiced at home starting with simple dishes, slowly advancing to more complicated ones. At that moment, dozens of ideas began to flood your mind.
"Great idea Haru!" you cried, leaping off the couch. "Maybe we could make some sukiyaki [1]...no no! How about hambagu [2]? Wait, do we have the ingredients to make the sauce? Haru, do we have-"
"(Name)."
The swimmer stood up, gazing deep into your (eye color) orbs with his own crystal blue gems, grasping your hands.
"Calm down. I was only talking about making saba [3]."
Blinking, you slowly processed his classic statement. Your cheeks flushed a hot scarlet when you realized how you overreacted.
"I-I'm sorry," you squeaked out, your gaze trailing down to your feet as you drug them into the kitchen.
"It's alright (Name). Let me get my apron."
While Haru walked out of the room, you brought out the fresh mackerel from the fridge and set a pan on the stove.
When Haru came back, however, you had to do a double take to make sure your vision wasn't failing you.
"Why are you in your swimsuit and apron?!"
"My mackerel tastes better when I cook in my swimsuit." he replied simply, turning on the oven. "I wear the apron so I don't get oil on it."

Makoto

It was not unusual for you and Makoto to make dinner together during the week. After school, you would come spend time at his home or vice versa, then make a Japanese dish together close to evening. It was a way of bonding and a time to destress, spending time with the person you loved from the bottom of your heart.
"Onii-chan [4]! Onee-chan [5]!" Two high pitched voices called in unison.
Looking up from your homework on the bed, Ran enveloped you in a tight hug, her twin brother Ren doing the same to Makoto.
"What's the matter you two?" Makoto questioned, his voice laced with concern.
"We're huuuungry!" Ran giggled.
"Huuuuungry!" Ren mimicked.
"Well what do you want to eat?" you inquired.
"Ramen [6]!" they cried.
Makoto chuckled. "That's not a very healthy dinner."
"Not ramen in the cup! We want you and Onee-chan to make it!" Ran explained.
You exchanged glances with the emerald-eyed male.
"We do have the ingredients," Makoto spoke with a gentle smile.
Returning his smile, you agreed to cook for Makoto's siblings.
In the kitchen, you decided to cook miso ramen [7], since it is a rich and filling dinner.
Gathering the ingredients, you had the dish prepared in a half an hour, and gave the steaming bowls of vegetables, meat, and noodles to the pair of twins.
Eyes sparkling, they each took a bite, and they immediately started devouring the dish.
"This is so good!" Ran complimented.
"Yeah! I want Onee-chan to make ramen again!" Ren added, slurping down the noodles.
You laughed lightly. "Of course I'll make it again for you."
"If Mako-nii marries Onee-chan, then she can make us ramen forever!" Ran giggled.
You immediately saw your boyfriend's eyes widen, a crimson blush dusting his cheeks.
Smiling, you kissed his cheek lightly as you heard him mumble, "I plan to."

Nagisa

"(Name)-chan, I'm hungry!" Nagisa whined, leaning over the side of the couch.
It was a Thursday afternoon when Nagisa begged you to come to his house, which you accepted, even though you had a mountain of homework to do. As you did so on the desk in the corner of his living room, he was sprawled out on his couch watching TV. But after an hour, he was whining that he was hungry.
"So go get something from the fridge," you suggested, punching the algebra equation from your worksheet into the calculator.
"But (Nickname)-chan!!"
"But Nagisa-kun!!"
Your boyfriend chuckled at your imitation of him. "I want some of your cooking!"
With that statement you froze, turning around in your chair to face the beaming blonde.
He had never requested to taste you cooking before. You knew how to cook, you didn't consider yourself Chopped material (A/N: Anyone who doesn't watch that show on Food Network needs to!!), but you were pretty good if you do say so yourself.
"Alright," you agreed. "But you have to help me!"
Walking into the kitchen, Nagisa skipped behind you, peering over your shoulder as you searched for ingredients.
Unfortunately since Nagisa's parents hadn't done their food shopping in a while, all you found was rice, seaweed, and salmon.
"Well, we can make onigiri [7]," you suggested with a smile.
"I love onigiri!" Nagisa cried, glomping you.
You two proceeded to make the rice balls, placing the salmon inside and wrapping it in seaweed. It looked nothing like the photos when you finished and were kind of messy, but when you tried them, however, they were delicious, and Nagisa didn't hesitate to tell you so.

Rei

It was nearing sunset when you and your boyfriend Rei finally made your way home. After school, he had swim practice, yet you decided to stay and watch him being the awesome girlfriend you were.
You marveled the determination in Rei's eyes when he swam the butterfly. Just a few weeks ago, he couldn't even swim. Now, he could swim 100m in less then thirty seconds. You had never seen such determination in anyone, and that was in fact one of the reasons why you loved him. Plus, you did get to see him in a sexy swimsuit, which you didn't consider a bad aspect.
"You certainly do love to swim, don't you?" You gazed up at your boyfriend the sun's afternoon glare reflecting in his red rimmed glasses.
"I do enjoy it," he replied. "The psychological and physical benefits are excellent and aid focus, fitness, and even test grades."
"Really?" you questioned, eyes wide.
The blue-haired male blushed, gazing at your wide, innocent (eye color) eyes. You were truly a beautiful girl.
Suddenly, a loud growl rang in your ears, causing Rei's cheeks to tint a darker shade of pink.
"Well I guess you're hungry," you giggled.
"S-Sumimasen [8]!" he cried, embarrassment evident in his actions, as he had covered his blush with his hand.
"It's alright. Let's make some soba [9] when we get to your house."
Once you reached Rei's front door, he fished his house keys from his pocket, unlocking his front door and allowing you to step inside.
Immediately after your shoes off, you ran to the kitchen, knowing where everything was located, and started preparing the dish.
"Slow down (Name)!" Rei laughed, taking some ingredients from you.
In an hour's time, you had prepared two bowls of piping hot chicken, edamame, and sesame seed soba, just the way Rei liked it.
Sitting down at the table, you excitedly dug into the dish, slurping down the noodles happily.
But after you swallowed, both you and Rei stopped chewing, exchanging glances, tears building up in the corners of your eyes.
"SPICY!!" you both cried, running to the sink and frantically gulping down water.
Once you caught your breath and the burning on your tongue ceased, you turned to Rei, asking him what when wrong.
The blue-eyed male checked over each ingredients, and when he took out the package of soba noodles.
In small letters on the back of the package, you squinted to read the miniscule print translating to:
"New spicy curry flavor!!"

Here you go @julinaomi! I don't even know if they make spicy curry soba noodles, lol. 😉 I apologize for Rei's part, he's OOC, I know.

Anyway, one of the reasons I want to go to Japan is so I can try all the food!! Although I'm a pretty picky eater, so I don't know if I would like any of it...but I already know that I am in love with fried rice. Thank you for reading!
