Rin

"I'm hungry," you moaned, cradling your stomach that growled with hunger.
"So...get up and eat something," your boyfriend, Rin, breathed in annoyance.
You didn't blame the swimmer for being so grumpy. It was an incredible 95° farenheight in Iwatobi, indicating the scalding heat of summer had arrived. You lazily laid on your couch, sprawled out in the lightest clothes you had, with a fan on your coffee table pushing cool air onto your face and neck. Yet, it seemed the air heated up faster then it came out of the device.
Meanwhile, Rin was collapsed in the recliner next to you, his hair pulled up in a small ponytail, beads of sweat forming on his forehead.
Earlier, his air conditioning had broke in his dormitory, so he literally begged you to come over so he didn't contract heat stroke.
"Oh! I know!" You suddenly sat up, beaming at your pending idea.
"Nani? [1]" Rin grumbled, closing his eyes.
"Let's make some somen [2]!" you suggested, the thought of the thin, wheat flour noodles making your mouth water.
The shark groaned again, shifting so his legs hung over the side of the chair. "It's too hot. Make it yourself."
Eye twitching, you grabbed your boyfriend's ponytail, dragging him into the kitchen.
"I'll make the noodles, you start boiling the water," you commanded, tying an apron around your hips.
"...Alright." Rin smiled, finally giving in.
After all, he did love you more then anything in the world.

Sosuke

After a long, stressful week of days at the beach, you finally had a free night to spend with the love of your love, Sosuke.
Even though the beach did not sound like a decent cause of stress, you had been offered a summer job as a lifeguard and this particular week was extremely busy. You even had to save an old lady who nearly drowned, and she didn't even thank you for saving her!
However, whenever you were with Sosuke, you felt all your tense moments melt away. It was very common for you two to cook meals for each other, and tonight you had decided to make two servings of omuraisu [3].
"Can you get the eggs for me (Name)?" Sosuke questioned, getting out a mixing bowl and apron to tie around his waist.
"Sure!" you hummed, taking the carton of eggs.
When you turned around, however, you nearly lost your grip on the fragile package when your boyfriend was tying on his apron.
You could feel heat rise to your (skin color) cheeks, and your knees become shaky underneath you.
Sosuke suddenly turned around, his teal orbs fixated on your scarlet cheeks. "What are you thinking about?" he teased, smirking.
"E-Eh?" Snapping into reality, you quickly shoved the eggs onto the counter, turning around to get out the rice cooker from the cabinet.
"Shut up!" you retaliated.
The male chuckled, stirring eggs and milk steadily, as you attempted to cool down your face.
You couldn't deny you enjoyed these small moments with him.

Aiichiro

Tonight, you had decided to make your boyfriend his favorite dinner, chirashi [4], since he placed first in his swimming competition earlier that day.
You had never made the dish before, but your friend had given you a good recipe for it, therefore you had no reason not to try preparing it.
Recalling the directions your friend gave you, you prepared the rice perfectly, and concentrated them into little rolls like you had planned.
At the moment, you were feeling very accomplished, until you took the raw fish out of the fridge.
The piece of fish seemed to stare at you dauntingly, as if to dare you to attempt the task. You hadn't cut fish before, but you figured it would be simple.
But quickly, you realized the task was a lot harder then you thought.
"(N-Name)! I'm here!" Aiichiro called you, dropping his duffle bag and shoes by the front door, venturing deeper into your home.
"I CAN'T TAKE THIS!!"
The short swimmer flinched at your tone, hesitantly walking to the kitchen, where you stood over the dreaded fish, your arms crossed angrily.
"(Name), y-you did all this for me?" he inquired, noticing the perfectly set table and rice balls, causing your cheeks to taint a light crimson.
"Y-Yeah...but I can't cut the fish correctly. The slices are either too thin or thick," you grumbled.
"Here, let me help." Aiichiro smiled kindly at you as he washed his hands. "You cut it like this."
Standing behind you, Aiichiro took your hand in his, putting it over the knife, showing you how to cut it properly.
In the end, you had five perfectly sliced pieces of fish, and both of your faces were the color of fresh cherries.
Yet, as you sat down to eat dinner, you shared a laugh, realizing that doing things together is no doubt better then completing it alone, even if there are mistakes along the way.

Momo

The sea otter of the Samezuka swim team was, to no surprise, not very skilled when it came to cooking.
He usually ordered take-out in school or relied on his roommate Aiichiro to provide him with food, however, when you suggested making dinner together, he couldn't resist your cute smile.
Now, you both stood in the kitchen of your home/apartment, all the ingredients and utensils set out on the counter to prepare a meal.
"So...what are we making?" Momo asked, rubbing the back of his neck.
"Fried rice [5], simple and delicious," you replied with another cute smile. "Can you start cutting up the vegetables?"
Shyly, the male agreed, doing as he was told. Much to his relief, when he finished, the vegetables were cut fairly well.
You then added the rice and vegetables to the frying pan, asking Momo to watch it while you went to the bathroom.
"She shouldn't have left me alone with this..." Momo mumbled, leaning against the stove.
Suddenly, something slipped underneath his elbow, causing him to cry out.
BEEP! BEEP! BEEP!
"What's going o-MOMO!"
You frantically ran over, turned off the stove as your boyfriend rubbed his elbow, fanning the burnt rice and vegetables.
"How did you..." You trailed off in anger, glaring daggers at the gold-eyed male.
He laughed nervously, pulling two boxes out of his backpack.
"Luckily we still have the bento I bought at the store...ha ha..."

Seijuro

Making dinner together was not an uncommon occurrence for you and your boyfriend, Seijuro, since he deemed the action "romantic" and "bonding".
Since you hadn't made a hot pot dish in a while and you were craving something hearty, you two decided to make shabu shabu [6], one of your favorite hot pot dishes.
First, you both cut the vegetables and meat together, and were now waiting for the water to heat on the stove.
"Mmm, I can smell the cooked meat already!" Your mouth watered as Seijuro chuckled, ruffling your hair.
Noticing the water had heated up, you offered to take it off the stove and pour it into smaller bowls.
"Are you sure you got it (Name)-chan? It's heavy," he warned, but you shook your head.
"It's fine! I can do it!"
Slipping on oven mitts, you turned off the stove and lifted the pot of water, noticing it was indeed heavier then your thought. But you didn't want to look like a fool for not being able to carry it, so you attempted to shift it over the counter, only to have the scalding liquid slosh onto your arm.
"Ah!" you cried out in pain, your forearm stinging intensely.
"(Name)!"
Seijuro rushed over, placing the pot in the counter and examining your arm, dragging you over to place your skin under ice water.
"You need to be more careful. If you couldn't handle it, you could have told me," he lightly chided you, his golden eyes focused intently on the water coming into contact with your skin.
"G-Gomenasai [7]..." you mumbled shamefully, small tears forming in the corner of your eyes as your boyfriend turned off the water, studying your injury.
"It doesn't look bad. I'll treat it and then we can eat."
Seijuro fetched the first aid kit from under the sink, disinfecting your burn and wrapping it in gauze.
"Thank you," you mumbled, giving him a greatful smile, noticing the pain was nearly gone.
"Don't thank me, it's my job," he replied simply, kissing your forehead. "Now, let's eat."

I am fairly proud of these one shots, and I'm finally done with this scenario!! That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy doing it though...I loved writing Momo's and Rin's especially. 😄
