Stefan and Damon Salvatore, the two boys of Lily and Guiseppe Salvatore, have been Vampires for nearly a century and a half. Turned by their first love, Katherine Peirce, formally known as Katerina Petrova, a Bulgarian Vampire who was turned a mere five hundred years ago and has been on the run ever since. During her life she fled from her family to England where she met and was in close ties with the Mikaelson family.
A family originally of seven children who were turned into vampires by their mother Esther, one of the most powerful whitches in history.
Esther turned her children after the death of her youngest child, Henrik who was accidentaly killed on a full moon by a nerby clan of werewolves. After loosing him and her eldest child, Freya, the witch decided that she must take matters into her own hands to protect her children. They were the first vampires to roam the Earth, turned one thousand years ago.
They are The Originals.
Esther and her husband, Mikael turned their children after serving them wine laced with blood. They were then killed and forced to feed. Esther turned one child after another, Finn, Elijah, Rebakah and Kol. But the one son, Niklaus, was something entirely different.
The final step in turning into a vampire is to feed on human blood. When Niklaus fed something different happened. A werefolf gene was triggered.
No one knew why he was different from everyone else except for Esther. She had Klaus with a man from a neighboring werewolf clan.
At this the father Mikael
was enraged.
Them turning into vampires made all of their lives more difficult.
They could not walk in the sunlight, they had hightened emotions and none of this compared to the blood lust. This was the cost of becoming vampires.
The Salvatores were beginning to live a normal life, which was rare in Mystic falls.
The Mikaelsons were beginning to adapt to New Orleans, a city with a new king and a princess, Hope.
All of their lives began to be normal. And their
families at peace. Little did they know, that their families were about to get a little bigger.
